Hi, hope you're all well and safe!

EE Mini WiFi router (rechargeable via usb)
VS.
EE Buzzard wifi router (12v socket type)

I have a dashcam (thinkware u100) wired permanent live to my car which also requires Wi-Fi hot-spot to use over the air features..

Currently i have the EE mini WiFi router, (the one you can charge).. both the dashcam and router are draining my battery whilst my car is parked.. mainly i think because the WiFi router is constantly on charge.... do you think the 12v socket type version will have less power draw as i doesn't have a battery that needs charging??

Hi thanks!

The device with the battery has a controller that turns off the power when the battery has reached a charge, and then turns it on again as it discharges.
So just no one will answer your question. It is necessary to measure the current consumption of each device, as well as the power consumption for a certain time, after which it will be possible to compare. Manufacturers do not indicate such data in the characteristics of the devices, unless one of the enthusiasts has conducted such tests
