I've been meaning to get a dashcam for a while but I keep putting it off. I wanted to get one for my husbands car that has a parking mode (he drives about 10 mins to and from the station Mon-Fri, and leaves it parked on on-street parking). We live in Australia, so it can get to 45 deg C during the summer. Just wondering if I got one that could do parking mode with a g-sensor in case anyone hits him, will it kill the car battery being left running that way for 8+ hrs a day?
Anyone have a model recommendation? Rear camera is good if it doesn't add too much to the cost, a screen or the ability to make sure it is set up correctly is also useful. Doesn't need audio or any of the other bells & whistles, as it is a 20 year old car that he just uses for commuting to the station. Looking to spend no more than $300US, but at the same time don't want to under spend and have it not be able to work properly either.
Anything else I should consider?
