Wolfbox G900
I'm assuming it's ok to ask this, but ban me forever if I'm wrong!

I have a new Wolfbox G900 and, rear-camera resolution aside (bad), it's... lacking. From my elementary look at the latest firmware file, it's a basic Android system (no surprise there). Has anyone worked on custom firmware for this thing? Specifically, I'm looking for three new features:
  1. Change the SD card formatting to something that works with both Mac and Windows machines (like every other RVM+dashcam out there). For some reason, Wolfbox's exFAT format does not work with Apple devices, and they know, and do not care.
  2. Make the size of the red recording dot in the corner about 3x smaller. It's ridiculously sized and distracting.
  3. Change the font for the time display to something that doesn't take up an entire third of the screen.

Don't think folks work on many models for custom firmware, and if they do they certainly won't be brands like Wolfbox

Valid! I'm new at this and super-unimpressed with what I've seen out there. Wolfbox definitely spends their money on advertising and not so much on the tech or documentation or usability, but it seems like it's the best-of-breed?

Would be THRILLED to be guided elsewhere. Requirements:
  • Hi-res, great, best-of-the-best always-on rear view mirror + camera
  • Fits in a Jeep Wrangler
  • Ability to be hardwired to power (no cigarette lighter power)
  • Recording
Everything else is gravy:
  • Front-facing camera + record

Tbh the only thing I can think of that's a RVM that's got the best up front is the Nexigo D90. There was a 70mai I tested previously that also hasa Starvis 2 Sony sensor up front but that's the 2K version and not 4K that's in the Nexigo (plus the fact the rear on the 70mai is pretty terrible quality). There's a Starvis 1 on the Nexigo D90 for rear so that's a plus

Wolfbox released the upgraded version G900 Pro, which I believe it was yesterday. It's good to see they finally upgraded the WiFi connection and IMX 678 sensor in this flagship, maybe you can check it out.

Dang! Thanks for alerting me! Still have enough time to return my G900!

Still disappointing that the rear camera isn't getting all the attention. It's so very strange to me what they think their market is when the reason people purchase this particular product is for an always-on RVM.
