It is not capable of being a dashcam...

Its an ordeal to wait for wifi and connect to a phone and when connected the preview is impossibly small ...

And although the video is better quality, it is blury at distance...

Slow motion can be best described as reasonable and its pure luck to grab a perfect frame from an action shot.

my conclusion was... I have a phone with camera that takes pictures and video of similar quality that is always with me so why the heck would I want to carry and mess with a yi ...

Indeed what use would I have for it !!!!

If it is blurry in a distance, you need to fix focus.

And if you don't know what sports camera is for, then why did you buy it? It primary usage isn't dashcam, but sports camera, similar to GoPro.

Maybe what I am trying to say is...

its a chuff to use...

and the latest ambrella chip, quality sensor and quality lens are a bit of a let down when it comes to picture quality and night time performance and I seriously expected more a year down the line from the 99650 I use ....

what can you expect from a cheap sports camera? go buy gopro or a proper dashcam

actually... there are apps for android that can make a dashcam of the phone...
