XFR files on card directly to iPhone?

Just curious. I have adapters that allow me to xfr photos from an SD card to iPhone or iPad. However....the iOS does not see the Guardian movie files. Is there a way, or an app, that will allow me to do this?

You won't be able to see the files if it's an Apple card reader, some of the aftermarket ones will allow it to work

It’s a generic usb to lightening adapter, with the small card reader that comes with the camera.
 
they normally need some type of app before you can do anything with them, it's an Apple thing
