Yi 4k Recording while connected to power supply?

Hey guys,

after owning the YI I think about getting the Yi 4k.

Does anyone know if it is possible to have the camera recording while connected to power supply with battery popped out similar to what works with the Yi 1?

Yes it does, but don't use it as dashcam, it fails at it.

That's the only time mine works (when plugged in). When I put fully charged batteries inside, it doesn't turn on. Completely dead. Does anyone know where their service center is for yi 4k camera?
