Seems like this cam is based on Ambarella A12A55 SoC + Omnivision OV4689 sensor...

Update: Yi Ultra Dashcam is based on Hi3556 chipset

Strange that the “international” version really doesn’t have H.265.

I’ve got the Chinese version with the same model number. It has menus that can be toggled between Chinese and English. Even the firmware version is the same as yours. Manufactured July 2017.

I just want to know if your Yi Ultra Dash Cam records more than 1 min per clip. Because my Ultra Dash cam only record for 1 minute but my Yi Gray dashcam records 3 mins per clip.
Here is my current firmware of my dashcam. FYI I do not see any support page or firmware for Ultra Dashcam from yitechnology.com .

Mine also does 1 minute only. Yes, I've noticed this change in behavior as well.

Firmware download is available at http://www.xiaoyi.com/dash/firmware/download/images/c15/update_c15.bin

This firmware is only for the Chinese version. It was given to me by Yi support. I think they're a lot more careful with firmware releases now. The Chinese forums had a bit of outcry with the original dashcam 028 version which prompted them to revert back to 026. This happened with a couple of previous versions too.

Thank for the reply. What version is this? Can you tell me the exact version of the firmware you posted?
 
Do not suggest to update firmware if your dashcam can reboot normally!
 
I have a question I purchased this off Amazon with the promotion to get it for 74 bucks. It arrived and seems fine but when it records it has the strobe effect and especially on led lights its even worse.
US Purchased: Firmware on it is v-1.01.010 (the app does not say update anywhere and no us support page seems to exsist) and model says it's a ycs.1517

Here is a sample clip I took showing my issue.
