Z60 Pro Version?

Thought the same thing.
If you look at the spec comparison he posted above, the 4k resolution is actually mentioned.
3k appears to be used to get 60fps.
They might not be able to have 4k60 for some reason.
Supreme leader at DDPAI says no to 4k60

Very nice thank you for your videos πŸ™‚, I am baffled by it saying 3K60 and not 4k HDR in the specifications. It seems to be using the same sensor imx678 and if it is using the newer NT98530 chipset then why can't it do 4k60 like other competitors can. Something doesn't add up here ..
It's a mistake. the 3K60fps is a option to choose from on settings. both 4K30FPS and 3K60FPS is an option.

Ok thank you for this. So it cannot perform 4k60 then at all, maybe it has an old chipset.

Not much benefit if any for 4k60fps.
An option for HDR by time is much more effective in my opinion. But doesn’t exists as well.

It says it can run for 8 days from car battery at 1fps and switch to video within 1 second, with a cool chart in the app:

8 days for one channel timelapse, 2 days for two channel timelapse, 20 days for collision detection wake-up. Impressive figures

Any thoughts on how DDPAI Z60 Pro compares against Viofo A329 or A229 Pro?

Since no one has a unit here we don't know unfortunately.
It's hard to beat the plate capture from Viofo to be honest. They know their game!

For the money difference, I don’t think it’s worth to pay this much more for very special scenarios which the viofo may or may not will capture the license plate more clearly if at all.
The main thing I think is a con for the Z60 and a lot more dashcams as well to be honest compared to Viofo, is their low bitrate parking mode. I think it’s the best parking mode option.

I have purchased the Z60 Pro 3 channel camera. - Everything seems to be fine - The only issue when setting up is that they didn`t send a Micro2 fuse but a Mini fuse. I have messaged them regarding this.

The fuse tap seems to be different from what I am used to. This one has a glass cartridge fuse as the connector.
I bought the device on AliExpress and I was using A810 70 mai previously.

My current setup will be Z60 Pro front
Mini2x rear
Rear camera will be used for internal ( DDPAI support mentioned that this might create a red hue in the footage, i`ll probably use a filter of some sort on it)

Am i correct in saying the below method is not very safe?

The Hardwire Kit we sell can be adapted to most models on the market. If you encounter a special situation where the fuse specifications are not suitable, you can choose to install it by breaking the wire. Please follow the instructions. This installation method is very safe and there are no installation hazards. If necessary, you can seek help from a professional auto shop.
Please refer to the installation video in this link. The tutorial for breaking the wire installation is about 3 minutes into the video.

Shouldn't 60fps have half the exposure time of 30fps and thus make moving objects at night less blurry?

Appears there is a new jewelled gold version of the Z60 Pro incoming.

Would love to see how this performs in the summer heat, but I also don't care because I'm smitten with the gold colour scheme and fake jewels heh heh:

OK...I have to admit, I like the colour. πŸ™‚ I have no shame.

I think gold and red are fancy colors in China.

I got z60 pro, it seems that along the 4k files there's also a folder named "small" that saves the same files as 720p resolution, such a waste of space. I couldn't find any setting for that.

Hey guys, Not to "argue" or disagree with anyone, but why almost does everyone obsess over 4K? It is like when 4K TVs first came out and everyone rushed out to buy 50hz 4K screens which couldn't play DVD's, Blu-ray or Xbox games as were so choppy panning or in action sequences.

I really don't think 4K is important. We should be focusing on more important factors like lens aperture / size for letting in light and the image sensor. My 6 year old Navman MiVue 1100XL DC has a 2.3" sensor (not 1/2.3"!!!) which is 2K front 60fps & 2K back 30fps.
60FPS is SO IMPORTANT. People don't seem to understand the compression in many of these cameras causes so much deterioration and distortion, as the frames are morphed together, where you see all sorts of artefacts and loss of detail.

I am struggling to pay $300 for something that is basically no better than my old set of dashcam.
I returned the Vantrue S1 Pro - awful old-tech feel, dodgy WiFi, poor quality. Returned RedTiger F7NP.

But I do like the RedTiger F17 Elite + DDPai Z60 Pro + Rove R2-4K Dual... πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«
I don't know.... Maybe I've hit information overload. 6m of so much wasted time - mainly due to incomplete and wrong specs by manufacturers, Amazon listings, and video reviews that do not even review the specs. I've been down the 4K "rabbit hole" and I found my way out! πŸ˜„

I honestly don't think people need 4K. Every 4K 25fps and 30fps Dashcam I have seen has very-very poor detail on number plates for moving objects. Only static objects are legible (identical quality in my Starvis 1 MiVue 1100XL DC). However, 2K (FHD) 60FPS Dashcam have all had much clearer and cleaner footage, with street signs and number plates visible - even faces on the side of the street. I have made an effort to compare apples for apples - all having Starvis v1 / v2 sensors (IMX3,4,6 series). Just extracting footage over WiFi is so slow.

I am really disappointed by the amount of compression in these devices, especially in 2025 now. Seems like I have to spend $450 for 2x 4K dashcam (and drop them to 2K, 2.5K, 2.7K 60FPS) which really isn't viable.

Any other recommendations that are better than Z60 Pro? for H.265 (decent quality compression - not like S1 Pro), 2K+ 60FPS and 512GB storage support? If 512GB is a limiting factor, I guess I can deal with 256GB. But some Dashcam support 1TB, so I don't understand why manufacturers are pushing such old tech... I guess that's what Amazon is mainly for πŸ˜„ Supposed "deals"...

Cheers guys!
