    Upsetting the locals

After a very long and tiring day of filming at Dunsfold (Top Gear) airfield, I wasn't fully paying attention and failed to notice just how narrow the road was, and ended up barging through on the pavement much to the disgrace of the oncoming cars. As a normally curtious and observent driver, I'm...

    Hard wire question 027/207

That is correct, you will need to install some sort of a regulator. I have mine hard wired in using a 12v -> 5v regulator module not too dissimilar to the linked one, but without a USB connection. Of course, you can snip that off and solder on the original wire if you wish.

    DVR207 FM Interferrence Solution?

Hi guys, I've been away from the forums for a while as life sort of took over! I've been meaning to look at this problem myself and I see some people are having some success with power cables with ferrite rings. One thing I will add is like what was suggested in a previous post, looping the...

DVR 027; how many hrs HD-video on a 32 GB card?

Mtz is right, those IR LEDs are a total joke. Do not even consider them when looking to buy a dash cam! I'll check recording bitrate as soon as I can.

DVR 027; how many hrs HD-video on a 32 GB card?

If you put the size down to WVGA or VGA and the frame rate down to 10fps then you could easily record 24 hours onto a 32GB card. I would have to check to get the actual bitrate to give you a real time but it should be fine. The photo mode is just for taking still images when you press a button...

    Wireless transmission from your dashcam

Cool, thanks for that. That's not bad at all!

    Wireless transmission from your dashcam

The trouble I find with 2.4GHz analogue video tranceivers is that the 2.4GHz spectrum is so over-crowded with devices (wifi, bluetooth, etc) that receiving without interference can be a challenge. Just a heads up that your mileage may vary to anyone making use of these, I've a lot of experience...

    DVR 027 causes radio interference?

I've experienced this problem with my '007. It's really annoying but I've not got around to tackling the issue yet. It impacts my FM radio reception and also kills reception my 2m/70cm amateur radio handheld. I don't use the supplied adapter, but rather a hard-wired 5v voltage regulator...

    Ambarella A2, A5, A7 and A9 Processors

The pictures are nothing more than an illustration to show what I meant about spot/weighted averages for those not familiar with the terms.

    New DVR-027

It doesn't rotate so you can't use it upside down unless you flip the video on a computer afterwards. The date will still be upside down though. I'd be surprised if it accepts 64GB, as that's SDXC standard rather than SDHC which has a maximum of 32GB. Perhaps someone else can confirm though.

    Ambarella A2, A5, A7 and A9 Processors

You do raise a good point - a graduated grey filter would resolve some sky exposure issues that are prevalent in many existing dash cams. However, it could also be solved in software. What needs to happen is that rather than a frame average exposure taken, an exposure weighted to the lower half...

DVR-027 clone but which? Are there more infos about this cam

Re: DVR-027 clone but which? Are there more infos about this That'll be because the camera's processor is too slow to keep up with resizing VGA up to SXGA. I really would just stick with VGA as otherwise you're just trying to polish a turd!

The best voltage setting for a Discharge Preventer

12v for definite. 11.8 is really dead and allowing the battery to get that low will mean the car likely wouldn't start and also will damage the battery over time. Even 12v is a bit on a low side, something like 12.2v might be safer to ensure the engine will crank, but of course that's not an...

General Questions about Dash Cam's (DVR-027)

Yup that's it, it's just a sort of power buffer. And hi to Germany! I'm driving there next month.
