Hi, I just bought this dashcam from Amazon, but there is a bug which was reported in a review on youtube
(
)
which is present in my camera. The vehicle speed displayed in the recorded video file is wrong. It looks like the km/h value appears with the "mph" unit (making it look like you are going too fast!), or if you select the "km/h" option, you get the mph value with the km/h unit, (making it look like you are going very slow!). The camera screen displays current speed correctly.
The AzDome website has firmware updates for the "GS63 Pro" and the "GS63H", but it seems the "GS63H Pro" I have is a different model to both of these, and doesn't have either firmware or manual on their website.

Just wondering if anyone knows if a fix is available. If not, I'm sending it back, because it seems to me that recording evidence of correct vehicle speed is the best point of having a GPS dashcam. Which is a shame, because it seems very good apart from this.
Thanks.

Hello davenine,
I only have the basic (older) model of the GS63H, (I have 2 spares, no need for a new one), so cannot assist you with the new PRO version.

The only thing I can suggest, is to "try" to contact them via their new web site.

&...Once you get it working, I also suggest that if their dashcam viewer does not suit your needs, then contact John, (traveler) & ask him to check
a few of your video files. (Links on his site.)
It may work...no probs, but if not, then John may update his great viewer, to accommodate the new AZDOME dashcam.

Instructions for contacting John & sending the necessary files are available in the first FAQ section.

Good luck.

Hi Michael, thanks for the reply. I have indeed emailed Azdome and used their contact form. I'll see if they reply. Its strange that they are selling this model all over the place, but it has nothing on their downloads page for manual or firmware. If they don't get back to me with a solution I will send it back to Amazon, because I can't see the point of a GPS dashcam that makes videos that falsely say I was breaking the speed limit at the time of the crash :) Which is a shame because it seems like a great camera otherwise.
