The Vantrue N2 Pro (also known as the N2 Pro Uber) is a dual dash cam that is designed to be a taxi cam or Uber Camera. The camera has a front lens that captures everything on the road ahead while the rear / interior camera records what is happening inside the vehicle. The interior camera comes with 4 infrared LEDs with helps illuminate the vehicle’s interior at night time. Note that only the “Pro” model comes with 4 infrared LEDs.
The Vantrue N2 Pro utilizes the Novatek NT96660 processor, Omnivision OV4689 CMOS sensor for the front camera and Sony Exmor IMX323 CMOS sensor for the interior camera. The camera records 1080p 30fps for both front and rear cameras. Video quality for the front camera is good in the day and average at night. The interior camera does a good job both day and night. The 4 infrared LEDs improve the video quality at night by illuminating the cabin.
When using the camera in single camera mode, the front camera can record at 2560 x 1440p @ 30fps, but we suggest using the camera in dual mode.
The camera comes with a 1.5″ screen, G-sensor and optional GPS mount. The camera is not the smallest at 39 x 100 x 42mm and the suction cup mount is not the most discreet. However, it is easy to move from one vehicle to another vehicle. Also most taxi / Uber drivers don’t mind if their cameras are visible so the look and size of the N2 Pro is not an issue. Build quality is good and reliability has been good.
The N2 Pro can be hardwired to your car for parking mode. There are 2 modes available, motion detection which is not buffered and time lapse which records continuously. If you are planning to use this camera in parking mode, time lapse is recommended.

Should I Purchase?
The Vantrue N2 Pro does an ok job as a taxi cam / Uber cam. Front video quality is good during the day while night quality is average at best. Interior video is good both day and night, build quality is decent, and reliability appears to be good. Price is a bit on the higher side at $200. Overall a decent buy if you are looking for a taxi cam. See our complete comparison on the main dash cam page.
