Blackvue DR750LW-2CH. 1080p/30Fps + 1080p/30Fps, Sony Exmor + OV CMOS, WiFi, GPS, 4" LCD,

Disappointed with the new BlackVue offerings, they really are stuck in time (although my DR400G-HD is still working, purchased in 2012), and I really need to get a new 2 channel setup. Starting to think I'm better off with 2 separate (but cheaper) cameras.

In the future, cars should have built-in dash cams as an option.

My 2014 Q50 has a 360 degree camera. If only they added a hard-drive option to record everything. Or the option to stick our own 64gb mini SD card and program it to record.

That is the future. Someone should write a proposal to the car manufacturer. Blackvue?
Some manufacturers are starting to implement dash cams (2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray comes to mind). The problem is, manufacturers will always be behind in technology (Stingray dash cam is only 720p), so just like GPS, you are better off with a 3rd party solution.

I have the 360" camera as well, and between the fisheye lens, and low resolution, it wouldn't be as useful IMO. I would still like to record it (I believe it's just a composite input on the headunit, so in theory you could copy the video stream with cheap analog car DVR).

Personally, I'm waiting for some company to figure out how to build a DVR with 4 compact remote 1080p cams (something like this, without the screen).

Other companies are already coming out with A7 image processor which can put out 2K video or 1080p @ 60fps with HDR. These features along with a good sensor improve the video quality immensely.

My very first dashcam was a DVR 500. It was a disappointment due to lower bitrate and bad low light quality. The video improved when I went hunting for the custom firmware on Russian forums. The custom firmware added a lot of missing features and the ability to set your own bitrate.

Eventually the dashcam stopped working and I went out and bought a DOD LS430. I'm really impressed with the night time quality of this camera and its ability to show speed via GPS on the screen. (I have bigger tires on my Jeep, so the speedometer is off by 5-10%, this is where the GPS speed comes in handy).

This new Blackvue cam is too big for north american customers, as others have stated. I do however like that it has a screen as well as a Wifi function.

Now what would be really awesome is if blackvue came out with AMBARELLA A7 image processor featuring a smaller screen with a discrete design (like previous models) and still retain the wifi function. And of course with a proper bit-rate.

I think they keep the bitrate low to make it easy to transfer files via wifi, so that's why they should let the customer decide what they want, better video quality or faster transfer over wifi.

yea but as soon as a camera has 2k or 1080p60, we will want 2ch 1080p60... then we will want 4ch 1080p60 plus in cab 5th channel. the demand for better quality will never end.

eventually we are going to be demanding quality good enough to count other drivers eye lashes. nothing will ever be enough.

Do we know which Sony Exmor sensor is in this one? Is it the IMX122 or one of the newer ones like the IMX136 / IMX174 maybe?

Conclusions:

To control the DVR is convenient thanks to the intuitive icons on the screen, even in the presence of the Korean language. The screen works fast and responsive. Brightness you can adjust the screen by itself. Optimal angles and matrix Sony Exmor 2.4 Mpix make good videos, and cope with the difficult traffic conditions. Non machine readable well on both sides. The firmware you want to adjust and work with the white balance. Pixelization video is practically absent. Good speed of copying files over WiFi on the phone allows you to transfer video from the front camera for about 15 seconds. The manufacturer has added a new feature FOTA intended to update the firmware via WiFi. Convenient fastening allows in a matter of seconds to shoot video with the windshield.

The device is completely balanced and deserves attention.

Will produce 3 different models:
DR750LW-2CH
DR750L-2CH
DR730L-2CH

All the same angle of view:

rear camera HD (1280x720) @ 30fps,
Wi-Fi is absent.

It's really tempting to replace my DR400G-HD with the DR750LW-2CH as the rearview in my SUV sucks and I was planning to install a screen and rearview backup camera anyways.

While I prefer discrete configurations, I'm very happy with the reliability and feature set of my DR400G-HD. Bitrate is a real concern tho :(

What to do...

what is the recording capacity for parking mode? what is the maximum memory card size that can be used?

This is the image captured from the RAW file - why is it constantly over exposure'd? is it a setting issue or bug?

I dont know yet how good ( or bad ) performance it will have ( only time will tell ), but I am truly admire bracket / mount solution. - It is one of the best I ever see. I had few similar slide-in/out ideas tested in my DIY Projects, but now I can see on how "my ideas" can look like on industrial level.
Respect this bracket mount solution !
