Well i installed my camera but cut the head off the lighter plug wire and cant find it, i never knew id have needed it.

Whats the best place to get a new power lead

It's a standard mini-USB 5V plug. You should be able to find one low cost on dx.com ebay.com amazon.com aliexpress.com

The guy that is wiring it for me said there would be resistors inside the plug. So that's why I ask.

We sell a few products that use the same charger but I don't have the specs handy and I don't any spares right now. (plus I'm across the pond, too far if you need it fast) I'm sure someone will give good advice where to get a new one for a good price quickly.

If you're in Ireland and hardwiring it might be better to speak to JooVuu as they have hardwiring kits in stock for about £12? Would save on labour time as its a really simple install?

Something like that would be good, except that right angle plug might get in the way of the GPS plug, or stick out in the way of the cord cover/cable managment hood if it's the other way.

That's a good point mate - if the installer has 12v to 5v adaptors in hand maybe he could just solder the existing cable to one of those to keep it simple?

The 90° us connector is juSt what I need! I mounted mine a bit too high and the bend would make remove it easy.
Is there anyway of wiring that other than running it to the battery ?

I can't copy the link in tapatalk but if you look in the DIY forum there's a thread about how to easily hardwire cams - that will give you an idea of how to do it and then look at the other threads about the add a circuit to make sure it's the right way around
