It seems that the DOD LS300W / TioTech GT300W is rather picky on SD cards. I'll compile a list here for cards that have been tested by forum members, for the benefit of others struggling with this issue. I'll try to check other threads too, but if I miss someones experiences, add them in this thread (or PM me) and I'll update the list. Please include following information:

  • card sale name (for example "Samsung 32GB MicroSDHC PRO Class 10")
  • product code (f.e. "MB-MGBGB/EU")
  • firmware version tested
  • (other information)

* NOTE: There have been reports of total irreversible card corruption on 64GB cards.

Hi vko,

I have enabled the
BBCODE. If you click on the table icon when posting a message, it helps define the table. Not the easiest to use that is why I had not enabled it.

Here is a sample output:

Thanks. It's a bit easier to handle lists that you want to be readable too. And for me, tables are easy, just need to remember to change all the < and > to [ and ]. ;)

thanks for tell us.

hope the Plus One i have match the LS300W i ordered today.

Sorry, but I can't add "latest" to the firmware column, as it would be incorrect information as soon as there's a newer firmware released. Please include the firmware version number your camera reports, and also the card product code so we can have complete information. This is also to all of you who have ??? on your tested line. :)

Thank you for complete information. :) According to Patriot this product code belongs to the LX series so I've added it as one to the list. Probably the same card measuredpath has, but as s/he has not shared his/her cards product code (nor the firmware version s/he is using), can not be sure.

Vko my Dod LS300W arrived

With firmware version GT300W 201304181 this card is not working! An update with GT300W firmware 20130618 is necessary to get it working.

This one also works with firmware GT300W 201304181.

Does anyone know if the LS430 is picky with cards? Just got mine and wondering which MicroSDHC I should buy..

Also, will the 430 accept 64GB, or only 32 and below?

I actually had a phone meeting with DOD Tech Canada (the official distributor of DOD products in North America) today, and the topic of SD card compatibility came up. After their lab testing and research, they have found that microSDHC/microSDXC cards made by the chipmaker ADATA is the most reliable and compatible with the LS300W. Even SanDisk cards can sometimes act glitchy.

The good news is, although the dashcam is only advertised as supporting up to 32GB, DOD's own tests have actually shown that with ADATA microSDHC cards, the LS300W supports up to 64GB, allowing for up to 10.5 - 11 hours of recorded data.

We have not had the chance to test ADATA cards yet, but this is something that's definitely on our list. If anyone happens to have any ADATA cards and an LS to verify this information, that'd be great! Otherwise, we will be doing our own study and posting our findings here.

Just confirming that the Kingston 32GB Class 10 card I just bought works with the LS430.
