Today, I will be reviewing the REDTIGER F17 Elite dashcam that was supplied to me by REDTIGER. This is a 3 channel setup dashcam that provides a 4K+1080+2.5K, Starvis 2 and Full Night Color.
Here is the provided box.

SD Card Testing used during testing: This was a REDTIGER 128GB, there website rates it for up to READ(100MB/s) WRITE (85MB/s)
In testing I found that the SD Card provides enough footage for 3 hours of playback time for the 128GB in 3 Channel Mode.

App Install:
Installation of the app was extremely easy and pleasant to use. Instructions were provided and were straight to the point.

Downloading from App:
The app was very easy to install videos from the app to the phone made using it a breeze.

Hardwire Installation:

Hardwire installation was simple and easy they provided everything needed to install the dashcam, all the fuses, etc.

Voice Control:

Voice control was nice and pleasant to use.

Conclusion:
I found that the F17 Elite dashcam is a good dash cam comparing to the Viofo A229 Pro, coming in at almost $100 cheaper. The touch screen quality looks amazing in person the screen is very responsive to touch, the sound is perfect. The camera quality was very good I could read license plates as well as the night vision was good. The only complaint would be the rear camera but a lot of cameras do not have very good rear cameras just enough to get what's needed, otherwise I would say this is a good buy.

Is it 30fps or 24fps?

25fps = Fake 4K .webp

Nice catch Eagle Eye.
25fps = Fake 4K
I think I someone needs to add the @Redtiger F17 Elite to the “List of Shame” I will let @Mtz have the honor.
Wait a minute, @rcg530 don’t you have one of these for test & evaluation, can you confirm & verify just like you did for that counterfeit Type S Fake 4K dash cam?

Redtiger has shipped one to me. I'll get it sometime in the next week. I'll check the FPS value. Some dash cameras will change the video FPS from 30 to 25 if the setting related to the frequency/hertz is set to 50. It looks like that setting is labeled "Flicker" according to the F17 Elite user manual.

The A229 Pro test footage was filmed / upload at 30fps.
Maybe the Red Tiger default setting is 50Hz?

The front camera is 30fps
Hello,
Is this Tony the Engineer?
My name is Chuck McCoy, I met you at SEMA 2024 at your booth.

Here's a screenshot from AutoFun's review of the F17 Elite. It shows the resolution settings. It implies that 30fps is possible for the front camera.

Do you mean to say 30fps in 1CH configuration, and 25fps in 2CH configuration?

Hi Chuck! I'm not Tony. My name's Lia, nice to meet you. Here's the latest info for the F17 Elite: the front camera records at 25fps, the cabin camera at 25fps, and the rear camera at 30fps in all modes.

Thank You for being honest. We look forward to seeing you at SEMA in November again.

If my info-data-sheet from may25 is still correct the Front-Camera should have IMX678, Rear IMX675 and interieur IMX307

Yeah if it’s got an IMX678 and is doing 25fps, it’s probably a processor limitation. I wonder if the 25fps max only applies in 3CH mode.

For example, the Viofo A139 Pro’s IMX678 could do 4K30 in 1-2CH mode, but had to drop down the resolution or frame rate in 3CH mode.

Now @Dashmellow who unfortunately passed away. I am sure brought it to my attention that if the dash camera does not record at 30fps. It is not admissable in court.

I liked Dashmellow, he was more correct about things than not. However, I am not so sure about that frame rate statement. In court, the frame rate must be high enough for a clear video image of what was recorded. In some cases 25 FPS may be too slow, in other cases, it may be adequate...I suspect that is what Dashmellow was referring to. A lower frame rate could miss the action of someone, their hand movement, etc. whereas a faster frame rate would have recorded that action.
