I just picked up one of these, and having wound myself up pretty bad about it and so pretty exited, well i did not get around to do a inboxing video as i installed the system at once right there at the pick up point ( Shell gas station )

Install was of course unproblematic but i did run into a snag.
So removing the X800 as i was going to use the 4G HW kit it have been using, and everything was strait forward until i saw that i was not able to get parking guard to work as the system did not see the 4G kit, even if i could remotely ( 4G ) log in to the camera ASO.
But it was just the system that needed a key / power on / off to figure out there was a HW kit there alright. ( at the time of install i was powering off the excellent 70mai power pack )

Only observation i have so far is, the speed screen saver is not there, well at least not with shipping Firmware, i forgot to take a look after i updated the system OTA.

I mounted the system a little off set to the left / driver side, but that still mean the interior camera pretty much just film the front side of my mirror, so as usual when i get that, i just remove the mirror, which is OK ATM my back is in a good place so turning to look is not bad.

Fit - Feel and shipping / packaging of course excellent as usual.
Only minus i would mention is there are no CPL in the package standard, so that is a additional purchase i think.

I am going to take a drive on this Danish summer like summer day, and also a short round trip in town later on when it have become dark / as dark as Denmark get this time of the year.

Made a "flash " video of my daytime recording from today, speed up 6 X and removed sound using insta 360 studio.

Got lost 2 times ( pavement end where peoples dirt road driveway start.

No idea where all that extra blur come from. i assume insta studio did it, i dont recall getting that using other editors.

Nice scenery, the sped-up footage like real-life Forza or something!

Yes motion blur or not you can still see a little of Denmark, and this time of the year is for sure the time where we look the best

Sadly my 2 other editing softwares only use the CPU so that make it take a very long time rendering a video this size VS insta studio that use both CPU and GPU to do the same, it is substantially faster.
I will have to look at where it come from, i am sure i did not add it as a feature, so i have a feeling it is something that is on by default when you speed up a video.

I will be ordering 2 new headlights for my car today, and a few spare rivets that hold some of the car plastics on CUZ i of course have to dismantle quite a bit of the front to take out the old headlights and put new ones in.
But as long as the weather will hold for a few hours that will be fine, also easier now that i have experience from last time i did it.

The T800 of course have no problems capturing plates at highway speeds in good weather.
The rear do struggle a little but it is something i have always noticed making these kind of videos with other systems, if it is the different lighting conditions that do it or not i do not know for sure, but i would assume so.

Making this little video i did notice some missing frames, or at least going frame by frame to get car / plate in sweet spor for freeze frame i had then do a unusual big " jump" forward, no sight of duplicate frames yet, but have not looked much at footage in frame by frame mode.

I have noticed that plate capture at night, struggling a lot, but i think it is my cars light / headlights, 2 new headlights is in the mail at the cost of a nice dashcam system.

Got a CPL filter for the T800 today, so headed out for the roads and post offices / pickup points.
Aligned systems horizontal by the bottom of the footage in relation to a piece of paper on the dash

Also alignment in the vertical. the E1PRO is on the right side so a little aligned towards the side of the road, the T800 more in the middle maybe ever so slightly aligned towards oncoming traffic.
+ There is of course also the two different FOV lenses to account for.
Also the CPL on the E1PRO dont seem to be doing as good a job, will have to make sure of its adjustment.

T800 have bang on Blue Danish sky
The E1PRO have the green grass and trees + the yellow of the corn in the fields bang on.

Recorded a little T800 footage today, in a few minutes while the sun was out. ( as you can see by the sky, typical Danish summer )

The plate captures by F & R cameras are really not that good in this case, i will have to try HDR OFF and also not use high compression. ( CPL filter on today )

Never the less if your timing are good, and spice that with a few other good things like light ASO, well the T800 can give you 3 chances of a plate capture it seem.

The Americans have " sin " city, we Danes have Sem city ( 2:45 ), and TBH i think ours is the better one, it is darker at night like A LOT and driving thru it is also done pretty fast.

Also very evident, the state of my 2012 windscreen, no one can not blame me for not testing under real world situations.

Also at 00:08 Bambi had good timing in crossing road.

Also proving we are old country here, the church in Sem ( visible to the left at the end ) was build around the year 1100 and added to in the year 1510.
I believe that predate the Mayflower quite a bit, actually it even predate that Pea**** Columbus that is generally said to have discovered the Americas, but which was also done by my people some 500 years before Columbus.

Also. IF you feel like visiting us, you really have to come during the summer months when we are at our very best, and for the love of Odin do NOT waste too much time in that Capitol of ours.

Like the colours in the vid. I have hit several deer at highway speeds, and they can do a crap lot of damage to a car. I have a 2013 windshield that is in need of replacement. When viewed at certain angles and lighting, I can see hundreds of pit marks. These never show up on a video, but I do wonder if they affect the overall image clarity.

I have had some problems capturing plates like other would do in the dark, so today on my way home, granted not in complete darkness.
Well to make more of my light come into the oncoming lane, i ran with my high beams on, but then dialed the light down quite a bit to not totally blind people ( and no one flashed their high beams at me )
Anyway. wouldn’t you know, now i was able to capture plates like other do.

So clearly it is a matter of the light geometry on my little Suzuki car VS other, maybe more modern stuff, i know that some new cars with LED lights,,,, i sit in my car amazed about how this " poop " can even be allowed to drive on public streets.

It's when it blinds you that's the issue. LED lights by themselves make a huge difference to lighting the road Vs halogen. For most new cars with LED lights, there's an angler switch and I suspect most people don't have the correct angle set. If one installs aftermarket LED lights in existing factory halogen sockets, then there won't be the angler switch and thus will be pointed down towards the road and not in other drivers eyes.

Just now wanting to look at a file from the interior camera, for some reason that one file will not play, the previous will and the following one too.
Have random scrolled thru other interior footage to see if there are other similar, but not found one.

Will put card in camera tomorrow, and try and play it from there, but windows do not say the file is broken or anything, but other files i have copied off card have a preview image but this file do not get that .

will keep my eye on this.

Please make sure you have at least firmware version 1.2.136ww installed in the T800. As of today, version 1.2.136ww is the latest public version that has a patch to address the seldom/random video stream corruption issue with the T800. Since I upgraded to 1.2.136ww my T800, the video stream corruption issue has not occurred.

Sometime in mid-October, version 1.2.138ww is slated to be released which is the "official" patch for that issue and a few other issues [no list at this time what those other issues are].

I am updated fully, but maybe this is not released in my neck of the wood yet.

Yep just checked i am on 1.2.136ww

A few days ago i got a MSG from the camera about memory card " degeneration " i think it said, and so wanted a format, but the system shout down in seconds.
Anyway in due time after that i did do the format and are now awaiting to see when it happen again, i have only done formats with FW update, and TBH i think last FW update was done with another memory card and so the 512GB 70 mai card have seen a extra long period with no format.

I do not consider this a flaw in the system, in anything potentially in the memory card, but i dont think so, things do fragment with frequent delete / write

Okay got a MSG again today, and after the in camera format yesterday the camera only recorded 15 minutes of my drive home ( dunno why i did not see a warning again, it was pitch dark and T 800 almost right in front of me / offset to the driver side )

Anyway the MSG today say replace card not format.

I wiped terminals off and then it worked again at least for the 5 min i drove after that, the card is currently getting tested here on my PC.

dead card.webp

It's good it shows a warning. I wonder how it is calculated.

Is there increased humidity there, perhaps contacts are damp inside the camera?

So mine just gave the same alert to format the card.
I did so, but as I left the car it said it again.
This unit is less than 2 months old and it is the microSD that was provided with it...
This is very disconcerting.

EDIT:
I just emailed help@70mai.com so we'll see what they say.

I had mine a bit longer, also use the 70mai card here.

Yes @mentadent a few days ago there was unusual much moisture on the inside of the car, i have no idea why unless the plastic bottle with sprinkler fluid have sprung a leak, but i think i would have been able to smell that.
Did wipe the card contacts today, but dident drive very much after that, will be going on a longer drive tomorrow to pick up a new PC case so will report back after that.

Card still testing here, at 75 - 40 mb/s it take a while to fill 512 GB H2testw

Okay H2testw finished

Warning: Only 488382 of 488383 MByte tested.
Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
Writing speed: 78.0 MByte/s
Reading speed: 69.3 MByte/s
H2testw v1.4
I do not think it is that 1 mb that topple the house of cards.
