New dashcam user, bought two E1 Pros for a late model F150 install (saw where a youtuber also did this as the ease of install was only slightly more challenging than a 2-channel dashcam). After some usage, I had a few wishes. I will state that I am not signed-in to Vantrue with an account, so I don't know if doing so gives one any of these additional features that I don't have.

**These first wishes may apply to the rest of the Vantrue lineup, and not only afect E1 Pro**

1. Rename "device" - especially when having more than one unit, challenging to only see the last of the serial number or MAC adddress. Would be great to have rename capability (in my case, front/rear).

2. Ability to backup/restore settings. Having a new firmware wipeout setting completely to default settings kind of stinks (again, as a new user, this may be normal for folks more experienced).

***This wish is especially towards the E1 Pro (or other single-channel dashcam)***

3. Would absolutely love a software ability for multiple E1 Pros to be able to sync together time and recording timestamps. I know the easiest fix is to have a multiple-channel dashcam and this is already in place. But the E1 Pro is so affordable, the luxury of having the same recordings start/end times would create great export/security gathering when putting together a time of events (ie. stitching front and rear recordings for insurance - can still be done with manual steps).

Problem experienced.

This so far was a one-time issue but for some reason the rear E1 Pro's wifi seemed to not be registering (wifi SSID not seen). I was trying to connect to the front unit first, go into app and get selected recording then download to phone. Went back into the app to connect to the rear, and the app would "supposedly" connect to the rear dashcam....BUT, the app seems to have successfully connectded to the rear wifi, but in reality connected to the front's. The live display and clips were from the front's dashcam.

Ended up having to reboot the rear's to be able to go in and be able to export successfully.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share such detailed feedback.

Regarding your points:

1. Support for custom Wi-Fi/device renaming is already under development. We are first validating this feature on our newer products, and once it proves stable, we plan to gradually introduce it to mass-production models, including existing ones where possible.
The current plan is to start rolling this out around Q1 2026. Please stay tuned.

2. You’re correct that firmware upgrades currently reset settings to default. This is done intentionally to ensure a clean system state and to avoid legacy configuration conflicts that could cause bugs or instability. That said, we understand the inconvenience, and we will continue optimizing this process to improve the user experience in future updates.

3. I have forwarded this suggestion to our R&D team. Since this feature would involve broader system-level changes and synchronization logic, it requires further evaluation before development, but it is now officially on our consideration list.

I also plan on getting two E1 Pro dash cams for both front and rear. A custom Wi-Fi/device renaming update would be really nice.

@Jeff_Vantrue Any chance we can get an option for a higher than high (perhaps maximum) sensitivity for voice commands?

Reason being; I'd like to be able to control both front the rear dash cams with voice commands at the same time and I would imagine that the rear camera might not be able to pickup voice commands the same as the front camera due to distance.

My second option would be to get the Vantrue Controller and sync it with the rear unit, and use voice commands with the front unit, but the controller only has a limited amount of quick functions.

Thanks for the suggestion and for sharing your use case.

Currently, voice command sensitivity offers three levels: Low / Medium / High. Increasing sensitivity further would significantly raise the risk of false triggers, so at this time we may not plan to add a level higher than High. We will continue to collect user feedback and re-evaluate this in the future if needed.

Thank you for your understanding and feedback.

Hello,

As for syncing two E1 Pros together, I think it could be easier to have a setting that makes the camera try to align its video segments to set time intervals.
For 3 minute clips, those would be 3, 6, 9, 12 etc minutes past the hour. So the first or second clip of a session might be cut short in favour of later segments being exactly on those intervals.
Then, the video clips of any two cameras set up like this would be mostly aligned, GPS timestamp-wise, to each other. Hope that makes sense!

Thanks for your idea! We get what you mean, but fixed time segments might confuse some users, so we’ll keep an eye on feedback before making changes.

To keep two E1 Pros roughly in sync, you can try:

Power them from the same source—like a dual car charger—so they start at the same time.

Use SD cards that are the same brand and capacity, which helps keep writing consistent.

Keep front and rear camera settings the same to avoid small timing differences when switching modes.

I am probably getting another E1 Pro today or tomorrow to use on the rear window. Do you need to switch one of them off to be able to access the camera you want to?

No, it's not necessary. They will have different Wi-Fi names.

The E1 Pro is a great little camera. It would be a cool idea if these could be made into 2 channel units. They are small, discrete, and compact, with fantastic video quality. @Jeff_Vantrue has Vantrue considered making a 2 channel E1 Pro?

@Jeff_Vantrue
What about blue tooth syncing?
Each unit handshakes and pairs using either the screen menus or the app.

They may only be able to do simple things like "record video"" turn off the screens" take a photo?
When they are synced one could become the master. Using an 8 or 16bit code each binary could have assigned to it a command just like it being done on the secondary unit.

In therory you could have a dasiy chain of units all listening to the master and just following the commands sent to them. All they do is interpret the binary value and do the action assigned to that value.

Actually this method could be used with any units that have Bluetooth.

We appreciate your feedback! The 2 channel E1 Pro is planned, and we hope to release it around the end of 2026.

Your idea is technically feasible. Implementing it would involve product line definitions and app modifications, and we’ll arrange for it to be assessed.

@LateralNW

I don't understand the purpose of connecting the two cameras via bluetooth.... Bluetooth cannot power both cameras, so each camera requires it's own power cable. Bluetooth has limited bandwidth capabilities and slow transmission speeds.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? I mean syncing the cameras to have the videos record record in unison would require the cameras to boot in unison or one camera pause until the other camera starts, and then send a signal for both to begin recording at the same time.

I think that's the best you'd achieve, but it seems like a POOR work around for making the E1 Pro a 2 channel unit per @Jeff_Vantrue / Vantrue's future plans.

@jsmith not understanding yeah i have that effect on lots of people lol

The op request is all im adding to as a work around solution of Vantrue if they never released a dual E1Pro.

A dual system would most likely mean one dumb unit working from the main unit as it is done now on dual systems. ( i know they have processor in them but they rely on the primary unit to work therefore dumb)

In regards of a new model potentially coming that doesn't resolve the request/wish made here.

For anyone who already has two E1Pros they may not be interested in spending more money when they already have what they want.

The Bluetooth suggestion might be a solution that could be implemented on existing E1Pros using maybe a firmware update. Both units are powered as normal.

I didn't suggest it would be easy lol.

I don't understand

Hope the above helped.

Thanks for the response @Jeff_Vantrue , I get it, wishes are just that.

@clone.trooper I'm using your post to help explain my suggestion that's all.
......

If like the op already have two cameras i was thinking it would be nice if they could be firmware updated so they can communicate (handshake and locked in) and using Bluetooth was what i think could be a solution.

Of course Vantrue may not have the desire or business plan to retro fit older models! Not to mention the distraction from upcoming models. All fair enough.

@Jeff_Vantrue it was me tossing around an idea nothing more.

I understand fully and am not discounting your suggestion at all. The idea is technically feasible for Camera A to send a signal to Camera B over bluetooth so that both units can postpone recording and sync in unison. Other than that, you won't achieve much more over limited bandwidth bluetooth.

There are a few problems with this type of configuration.

1. You need to have a means of notifying the driver whether or not the two cameras are "connected" in unison. I.E. some sort of icon
2. Bluetooth possesses inadequate bandwith to transmit any kind of direct feed to the main unit.
3. I'm not sure how much savings you'd yield over buying two E1 Pros over a single unit.

Ultimately, while possible to do some sort of daisy chaining, it probably wouldn't be the most ideal solution.

Not necessarily part of the intent of this thread, but since I only have this one and @Jeff_Vantrue has participated here:

Went to grab my front camera for firmware update and noticed my mount is cracked! The pic below is from my rear (which I have easily removable, and edited to show where my crack is on my front). My rear is easily removable, while the front is permanently attached to windshield.

Jeff, have you seen other reports of this? How can I get a replacement (purchased both on 11/29/25)?

I've had 2 for a couple of months. They have different names probably based on serial number, but I never remember which is which. Also you don't need to select wifi, in App you can select the different cameras. (then connect to the wrong one and then to the right one)

One thing I don't like is how slow downloads are, I htink it takes a couple of minutes to download a 700 mb file to my phone. On PC its over in 20 seconds.
