Update 29 Apr 2025

Update 22 Feb 2025
The Viofo A129 Duo misses the GPS information. I'm sure Viofo will fix this in fullness of time.

Update 18 Feb 2025
Google and Baidu Ditu in Pinyin, and 百度地图 in Chinese Characters, maps now without Watermarks

As @Panzer Platform highlighted (Thanks Panzer) in another post that Viofo have released their own dashcam player.

If you would like to use it but aren't sure where or how to start here is a simple video of how to download, install and use this player.

The player is free and doesn't seem to want to call home like so many apps and program do these days.

Happy to hear your comments but please stay on topic that is anything to do with the Viofo player and the various dashcam that work with it.

I watched your install you tube clip, downloaded VIOFO Player.exe but when I try to install / open all I get is the buffering circle for 30 or 40 seconds then nothing. checked it with antivirus before attempting to install, switched Antivirus protection off and retried install (in case the antivirus was stopping the install) but same results, buffering circle for a short while then closed.
Any help and advise would be appreciated.

I thought i would see if i got a similar error to you so i started from scratch.

I found the file size is different and the sha256

Checking the details of the new download it says it's the same version.

But it's not.
When checking the sha256 hash, ms defender warned me not to run it.

@viofo perhaps you can help here, thanks.

I'm setting up a virtual machine and once the updates are finished I'll run the viofo player in it and see what happens.

Thanks Karagandinez, however when I connected to the link, no download started, so I used the "Page Translate" in Chrome and it just said "Opps Error 404". Thanks again for your help

Thanks again Karagadinez, there must be something on my PC stopping the .exe file from working. I downloaded (VIOFO Player_Windows Version.zip) from your supplied link, extracted the .exe file but when I tried to execute the install I had the same results as when I downloaded the file from Viofo, a buffering circle for 10 seconds the nothing. Thanks again, I'll give it a short while and try to redownload fro Viofo and see if there has been any updates that work for me,
Thanks for all your help

I and many of my friends have installed Viofo player from this folder and there are no problems.

Thanks for your help, I'm not any good with computers. Thanks again

I believe the buffering circle appears because the program is attempting to start the installation but requires Administrator permissions.
I ran a couple of simple tests and found that both versions I have do work, but I had to install them using Administrator privileges.
Once the program has been downloaded, right-click on the file and select "Run as administrator".

The installation process should then begin as shown in the original video.
Let me know how you go.

Thanks LateralNW your definitely onto something there.
A day or 2 back I downloaded a couple of video files from my Viofo Dashcam onto the PC and tried to Open the files with the VIOFOPlayer.exe and it opened up a dialog page I ain,t seen before with about 4 or 5 installation listed steps. The Blue buffering circle ran for about 15 seconds then came back with a statement something like " Elevated Status Error".......
So I tried as you suggested and tried to run the Install exe file as Administrator, and got the same result....a buffering circle then nothing?
I'm starting to think it's something on my PC, such as Anti Virus, but I've tried running the Install with the Anti Virus Paused and using Admin Status.
I know very little about PC's and this is doing my head in.
Thanks again LateralNW your advice is much appreciated.

Thanks again LateralNW, I've got it working AT LAST, your comment made me muc about looking at "Admin" and Anti Virus etc etc.
I right clicked on the .exe file to try Admin again, but instead look at "Properties" and under one of the Tabs (I think security but I can not re-find it ??) was a "Tick Box" saying "UNBLOCK - the programme may be blocked to protect your PC" . Ticked the box and it installed. At last.....
Thanks once more, you pointed me in the right direction.🙂

Found the Tab in Properties once more. I re-downloaded a "New" version of the .exe file and right clicked, selected "Properties" and at the bottom under the "General Tab" is the tick box I mentioned in my previous post.
Again Thankyou I would never have found this if you had not put me on the right path.

Great to hear you got it working.

Thanks for sharing the fix—I'm sure that'll help others.

Windows adds a zone identifier to downloaded files for security, which can block them. Unblocking it in Properties clears that.

Funnily enough I was wondering if it was a type of regional lock. Thanks again for your help, you highlighted the area of the problem.
