I only noticed because the camera stopped giving voice messages (“Parking mode off”, etc.), because all 3 LEDs (REC/GPS/ACC) were on!

The manual recording button did not work, neither did Wi-Fi.

If I switched the camera off, it would immediately switch itself back on again.

Unplugging it completely from power did not help either. - It also seems the camera does not have a reset button...???

I then checked the footage.
It correctly stored the last image, then simply stopped working during a drive (so the last file was not corrupt).

The SD card was full, but of course the camera should automatically overwrite older footage.

I formatted the card with the PC software, and when I put it back into the camera, the camera formatted it again automatically.

After that, the camera started working again.

I'm on the latest firmware, updated about a week ago.

Has anyone had similar issues?

The only reason I had the sound enabled was because the camera is fairly new and I wanted to make sure everything was working properly.

If the sound had been off, I probably never would have noticed the camera had stopped working.

This absolutely makes me lose faith in it.

That sounds like an SD card issue. Possible corrupt card, comparability issue - or just a one off glitch.

What card are you using?

sandisk extreme 512gb, so this should be ok ?

i have the same in my SECOND elite 10 which i use as rear cam
(the 2 rear cams from both units are on the sides of my car)

That is a compatible card, but any card can cause random issues with dashcams.

Try swapping the two cards between your two cameras and see if the issue switches to the other camera - which will identify it being the card.
If the issue stays on the same camera with the swapped card, then it's a camera issue.

ok will do. i'll test an report back (might take a while, but will definitely give feedback at some point!)

formatted the card and kept it in the same camera.

Been driving around since the 10th of may and today the oldest clip is from the 18th.
i drive roughly 2hrs each day during the week and last weekend i did a round trip of 2x5 hrs
so the card has been overwritten multiple times, but the problem has not reoccurred.

I now doubt it's the card, also because when i initially took it out (after the problem occurred) it was working fine and i could read all files.

This would mean its a bug in the camera and the only way to notice this is to keep the sound of the camera on (something that i don't like or want)
