In my cameras I was able to remove the ir cut filter and get the expected red ir looking images. Perhaps you just need to keep turning the lens and it will focus. If it's tight, make sure you have not cross threaded

I don't think it's precisely correct that the z23L does not have ir filter. My reason for suggesting this is when I put an aftermarket lens which had no ir cut filter on my 23L the image is pink and looks like ir photography. When I added an ir cut filter to that aftermarket lens, the colors...

the type of microphone is a 'electret microphone' which is very common and not expensive. you should be able to replace easily. this is the same type as in most cameras, phones, headsets, etc so if you have a broken one of these you could take the mic out of it and try it for a replacement
