    Working "big" microSD cards?

I saw that, but I've been caught with Global before with import duty and a lot of ballsing about. I know it's supposed to be all dealt with, but it wasn't. Royal Mail in N. Ireland can't cope and brains melted and heads exploded trying to figure it out, whatever happened.

    Working "big" microSD cards?

Which Samsung cards? Any preference? I used 32GB EVO cards in my old Mini 0804 in the past, and now use those same cards in various Raspberry Pi. Still working 100%. I then got two 64GB EVO cards which were dead within a month in my A119. I reluctant to spend on a 128GB EVO and have it die...

    Working "big" microSD cards?

Folks, I'm looking to buy a 9663DC and was wondering which cards are known good in the 128GB/256GB size? I currently use a A119 that's on it's last legs, and it doesn't work well with any cards other than High Endurance cards. Is the 9663 as sensitive? I have an ADATA Premium 128GB card, is...

    V-NAND

https://www.anandtech.com/show/8239/update-on-samsung-850-pro-endurance-vnand-die-size To quote: "The most promising aspect of V-NAND is its increased endurance and Samsung has claimed endurance of up to ten times of 2D NAND"

V-NAND is supposed to last longer than even MLC.

Reading number plates on a cloudy day

This is why the Transcend DrivePro 200 was such a good camera for picking up number plates - a big lens. Shame it was pretty rubbish otherwise - 32GB card limit, wobbly fixed mount, and mine developed an audio rattle and also shimmery video (like videoing a constant heat haze).

    Recommended micro sd card

I'm trialing an ADATA Premium 128GB card at the moment. They say it's suitable for dashcams. I've been using a Lexar 633x 128GB and it's been OK in the Mobius, but freaked out in my A119.

    MicroSD options, including MLC cards

I don't, I was just making an observation that they were difficult to get. SanDisk and Lexar are/were trivial to get just about anywhere, Transcend are difficult to get because they go out of stock really quickly at the few suppliers that have them. Jeesh, what is it with people on this...

    MicroSD options, including MLC cards

Because chances are they'll have 500 orders and only get in 30. I've ordered a few times, and then get an email saying the order had to be cancelled due to lack of stock.

"In stock on July 30, 2017."

    MicroSD options, including MLC cards

Sometimes. They go out of stock super-quickly (usually instantly). :) I got mine from Amazon back in October 2016, and I've never seen it in stock since.

Indeed, with Lexar gone and Transcend really difficult to get hold of, really only SanDisk is the only easy to get High Endurance card here in the UK.

    A119 Firmware

 OK, for the hard of thinking: Speed is the amount of time taken to cover a fixed distance. Got that? So...if you crash, and Police get your video they will: 1. Review footage, and identify the location. 2. They will look at footage and identify two fixed points (lets say lamp...

    A119 Firmware

That's why I said to measure them..."Measure two fixed points on the ground". Did you even read my post, or are you just trolling? Edit: The method I describe (which you seem to be having difficulty with) is normal practice for Police in the UK, they use dashcam footage from the Police cars...

Which is exactly what I said: "Two fixed points on the ground". But thanks for your input.

    A119 Firmware

Newsflash : it's trivial to calculate speed just by using video. Measure two fixed points on the ground, then time how long it takes to pass those points on the video, quick math and you've got speed. So, really, if you're worried about your speed being on the video, you should be worrying...

    MicroSD options, including MLC cards

I've had a few corrupt files on my Lexar 633x. I wouldn't recommend. Currently we're using a Lexar High Endurance 64GB in one camera and a SanDisk High Endurance in the other. The Transcend High Endurance is missing (suspect it flew out of the A119 unnoticed and went out the car window -...

The UK AA calls for crackdown on sharing dashcam video

I've been watching some of the popular YouTube "UK car crash" channels recently, and it seems a lot of the people sending in videos are actually driving in a manner that sets them up for near-misses and the likes, just so they can send in their videos and "get famous". For example, they're...

What CAR are you putting those DASH CAMS in again?

I have a Megane, the missus has a Hyundai i30. The Megane is a 2014 I got 4 months ago, had 5300 miles on the clock (owned by a disabled driver who obviously didn't drive very often). I've put 1k a month on it since I got it. The i30 was brand new in 2010, though it was a 2009 model (show...

    Thinking about getting an A119

That said, it's unfair to say the V1 A119 is a bad camera. It isn't. I've got two which have been perfect, and I know what bad cameras are like, having had a Mini0803 and a Min0806, a Mobius, and a Transcend which all give trouble in one way or the other.
