0803 - Going wrong - faulty?

Ive had this camera about two weeks...within first day it froze and I had to wait for the battery to run down...started it up and it was fine...
I have the screen to go off after 3 mins..and to record for 5 mins.
Then yesterday coming home form work I noticed the screen not turning off and the red record led would disappear...then light up...
Going to work the screen stayed on(journey time 30 mins)
Coming home from work the screen stayed on...
Just connected it to my computer to view the recordings and there is big chucks missing and the recent recordings are:-

Make sure your USB connection is solid. You can verify by turning the camera on and applying very light force to the connector in various directions (to simulate driving over bumpy roads). Also check the connection between the camera and mount (by applying small forces to the camera/mount connection).
