Hello everyone, I am having a difficult choice between selecting what dashcam would be best for me. I have been looking at the Viofo A329S for quite some time, but the price tag hurts... Quite a bit. Does anyone have a good reccomendations that would go head to head with the A329S for license plate capturing and keep the ability to add a SSD for recording? I work in some sketchy areas, so my vehicle being broken into is a high possibility and would like something that is able to be a bit hidden. Thanks for the recommendations

I want something that can be hardwired, and I would prefer a bundle with CLP filter(s) and the hardwire kit.

Hi wildindian.

Pretty much all dashcams can be hardwired, but the kit for that generally come on the side, same with CPL filters, though some do add them to the camera box now, which is good CUZ most will need one, but most sellers should be able to do a bundle for you so you get everything you need in one go in one place.

In the daytime / fairly decent lightning conditions, most dashcams will capture a plate, but for low light captures which newer models can also do, well i am not sure if that also cover parking guard.
I am inclined to think NOT CUZ the low light stuff necessitate HDR to be on, and so in essence the camera are recording in 2 X the frame rate it need, and this will use a lot more power than the lowest power modes.
I am myself partial to the always recording low bitrate mode, but i don't think it is a good mode for longer duration parking guard, i personally prefer to run that on a 3 hour timer if such a feature is there or a really high cut off voltage.

I have CCTV on my car from my 2 floor balcony door, so it is pretty much only when i am shopping i need parking guard, i don't do much more mingling with my fellow Danes as we have little in common, but other places i come also have CCTV.

People approaching your parked car at walking pace i trust you can get a OK identifying capture, but you do need some light no matter how bad ass low light abilities the system have.
And of course the punks better not be wearing hoodies zipped up real good.

If you have a shade / dotted area on the top of your windscreen, and so can mount most of a dashcam on that, very little of it will be directly visible below that and so about as stealthy as install as you can get.
But mounted on clean glass, the mount will also add to the visibility of the system.

Not sure how they are price wise, but ATM i run the 70mai T800 system ( 3 channel ) and the Vantrue S1Pro Max ( 2 channel 4K ), both of the new breed of systems, both supporting hard wire and also 4G if you feel like carrying the extra cost of running a extra SIM card.
