Is there a way to view footage on the camera screen or does it have to be connected to a computer?

Hello Richard,
You can view your footage back directly on the camera by:
1. Stop the camera recording.
2. Press the MODE button (button 6 below). There's three modes- Video, Photo and Playback. You want to press it until you reach Playback mode (you'll see the footage title in the top right of the screen).
3. Press the buttons on the right of the Dash Cam to scroll through the photos and videos stored on the SD card. Press Record to Play/Pause. Press Mode to Stop and return to file navigation.
