70mai 4G Standard and Premium Plans launched

70mai has today launched subscription plans for their 4G Hardwire Kit-enabled (UP04/UP05) dashcams, e.g. 4K T800, 4K Omni, 4K M800, A510, A810S among others. There are multiple benefits proposed by the new 70mai 4G plans, namely extended cloud storage, GPS tracking, remote surveillance viewing and the new addition of geofencing. For those that do not wish to partake in these benefits, there is still the older Basic tier that has free features. Do note however that Geofencing is a paid feature that is only available in the Standard and Premium tiers.

As you can see in the screenshots below, there is a new section added to the 70mai app, named "My subscriptions". This is where you can manage your paid 70mai subscriptions, and upgrade or cancel your plans. Also demonstrated in the screenshots below is how the Geofencing feature works - this feature allows the user to set a location where if the vehicle leaves the set radius, alert notifications are received on your mobile device.

All in all, Geofencing is a welcome addition to the 70mai feature suite, and with Standard and Premium plans, there is greater flexibility for the user to manage the surveillance features they desire.

all prices stated in USD

Basic Plan:

$0 per month: 30 minutes live view (driving and parking) per day, 15 times GPS live-tracking per month, 7 days cloud storage duration

Standard Plan:

$2.49 per month / $26.99 per year: 60 minutes live view (driving and parking) per day, 30 times GPS live-tracking per month, 15 days cloud storage duration, Geofence

Premium Plan:

$3.99 per month / $42.99 per year: unlimited live view (driving and parking) per day, unlimited GPS live-tracking per month, 30 days cloud storage duration, Geofence

Thank you, Augustus! We will officially launch our 4G value-added services on December 9th. The benefits of the previous free version will not be affected in any way (in fact, the free version has also been upgraded!). Our goal is to allow all users to enjoy the features of the 4G module, while increasing costs to allow users with greater needs to enjoy more benefits by subscribing to value-added services! We are also simultaneously developing many features like remotely browse, play, and download device photos&videos, etc. and hope to launch them as soon as possible next year!

Thanks for the update Oliver! Aren't remote browse / play / download already available for free? I hope they are not moving to paid subscription tiers šŸ™ or will there be new features ..

All existing free features will remain free forever, and benefits will not be reduced. We also offer unlimited cloud storage for the free plan. Future value-added features (browse, play, and download device photos & videos) refer to remotely browsing, playing, and downloading videos from the SD card via the appšŸ™‚

Glad to hear it! Wow awesome feature-sets ahead šŸ™‚

It's the same as the car companies that charged fees for heated seats to work.

I had 6(six) 70mai cameras and still have two operational in my cars: an A800 and an A810. I've spent money and would have spent more on future upgrades for the cameras, but after 250 Euros on a camera, I will not pay another cent for "more than 15 locations per month." I can understand that running the servers costs money, but are your customers checking their car locations so much that you have to charge extra?

Don't you (Xiaomi) think that customers will see this as a drawback and perhaps choose another company?? Even in cloud storage, you pay now 2-300Euro for 1TB that will eventualy become useless because all the pictures and movies will only get bigger in size? So you buy 1Tb that will only lasts you for decent use some years after you will need an upgrade so In the dashcam industy is the same, you dont buy a camera for life... I was planning on upgrading whenever something that suited my needs better, but feeling tied to some fees for something advertised, is a drawback for me.
With the A800 I had some major problems with the focus. All 3 cameras all had the same bad hardware focus ( fixed by disassembling the camera and manually adjusting the lens). The Xiaomi support claimed that it will be fixed with future firmware update... How can you fix this with firmware?
The parking survailance on the A810 drains a lot from the battery, the fact that a battery monitoring feature was released, is not an upgrade, I see it as a partial fix to the problem.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. While we added a subscription service, we initially didn't impose any additional restrictions on 4G functionality for any free users. Instead, we increased benefits for non-paying users; our cloud storage is now unlimited, and there are no longer limits on the number of files that can be uploaded. Our subscription service's features are comparable to those of our competitors, ensuring that our free features are not inferior to those of our peers. However, the subscription feature does increase costs (as the user base grows). This is a problem that all companies supporting cloud services face: user growth leads to an exponential increase in cloud costs.

Thank you for purchasing six of our products. Regarding the product issues you mentioned, you can message me privately to see if it's a quality problem.
Power consumption is indeed a common challenge for 4K dashcams. We also have several 4K dashcams with low-power parking monitoring modes coming soon. If you're interested, I'd be happy to provide you with one for free testing and experience.

Oliver, we are using the 70Mai 810s camera with the 4G Module and have subscribed for your premium plan. Are we able to see the days vehicle route on the map? Also do you have an API or SDK that will allow us to integrate the unit to our now Azure based backend? Please let me know as we are planning to buy a few more cameras and fix in our other office vehicles. Thanks in advance.

In my car I have 2 SIM cards, one in the 70 mai A810 and the second one in the Pandora alarm. In the Pandora app there are functions about where the car is, lock /unlock/start engine , speed, data about sensors, history from the trips , instant notifications on the phone and so much more, but no monthly fees, no "premium plans". Waranty? Is "for life" on the car it has been installed ( again because you will eventualy change the car) and in the money you spent for the device, for 5-10 years (much less on a camera because, as I said, you will forever want the best of what you can get in terms of safety and this is why I had a dashcam since 15 years ago), there should be the cloud support as well.
This is just my point of view, as a user, but I think that I'm not the only one that thinks this way.
As you can see the battery is at 13.4V because of the 70mai camera... I had to come up with a solution for the problem so I can still use the advertised parking surveillance. I've added a Lifepo4 90A 4s pack to the battery of the car. Heated, and thermal insulated, and this pack keeps the AGM battery fully charged, even with the camera working.

I probably skimmed through the thread quickly... but how does one get the connectivity? I don't recall the 4G/LTE module came with a SIM card (kickstarter T800 premium backer) and required an AT&T SIM card, which I ended up not installing the 4G/LTE module because I didn't have any extra AT&T SIM/data service available at the time.

If I was to install the 4G/LTE module now... I need to reroute all the cabling since I took an easy route of just using USB-C cable at the time of install when I thought the 4G/LTE module was useless without the AT&T SIM card, but now looks like enticing to use it with the free basic plan.

Free basic plan has remained the same essentially, this paid subscription service is just adding a few more perks with more to come next year.

It's worked well for me in my usage of it for Geofencing, I've been using the 4G service for the last year by using my own SIM card. Would vary by market but it is an unlocked unit, so shouldn't be too many hurdles to jump thru

I heard that they were planning to expand their value-added services early in 2026...
and 2026 now the first quarter is drawing to a close. When will the new value-added services, including the subscription plan, be unveiled?
Are there any updates?
