I see in the adverts for the 750, the 60p mode is being shown as reducing image blur. 60p requires 1/60 sec shutter for 60 frames, but 30p requires only 1/30 sec shutter. Does anyone know if the 30p (FHD@30) modes on the 750 use 1/30 second shutter speeds? 1/30 second shutter would result in a doubling of the exposure, one stop of additional light, and better nighttime performance.

60fps gives nice smooth video in well lit situations but typically doesn't do very well in low light situations, some cameras will stay at 60fps regardless, some will drop to 30fps in low light or may use frame doubling to stay at 60fps for ease of file handling but just double every second frame of a 30fps exposure reduce the motion blur

short answer, 30fps is generally going to perform better overall

I shoot TV news, my network is 720 p60, so I am familiar with 60p and shutter speeds...I typically switch to 1/30 shutter for stationary subject matter at night, but obviously my framerate stays at 60p. I was not sure how the dashcams work. I would gather that a 30p dashcam would go from 1/30 and up (no iris), but was not sure if the 750 would have a base shutter of 1/60 like an old standard def interlaced camera, and switching to 30p would not drop the shutter speed. The advertising that frames per second has anything to do with image smear is confusing to someone who knows this not to be the case...a DSLR shooting 1 frame per second at 1/5000 shutter would have much less smear. :-)

This is an interesting topic, has anyone compared actual 2ch 1080p30 vs 1080p60 in day/night conditions?
