I have an A118C I purchased from Everbuying as an upgrade from my G1WC, and everything works great except I can't disable the start up sound. I've tried disabling the button beep, resetting to factory settings and reflashing the latest A118C_20160316 firmware (which it already shipped with), all to no avail. Just wondering if anyone here has any ideas or tips?

Most times disabling the beep disables all sounds including startup. Worst case you can cut the plug off an old set of headphones and plug it into the av jack, then you will only have the LEDs - no screen and no sound.

if it doesn't turn off with the beeps then it's not something you can adjust, stick a plug in the AV out as suggested might be your better option

I'll trade you my a118c where I actually did rip out the speaker (by accident)... 🙂
Boo, unfortunately it seems the camera boots up with the logo and sound on screen/speaker before switching over to AV out. May actually have to give the speaker wires the snip-snip. That, or somehow mod the firmware to get rid of the startup sound (risky).

you won't be able to mod the firmware, disconnect the wires if that's what you need
