A329 just stopped working

I had it professionally installed, it was working great for a few months, I went all in, battery back up, 4tb ssd, 512 gb sd card, remote, etc..
Hardwired to the car so everything was working perfectly.
I noticed the other day it was off after I turned the car on, so I manually pressed the power button and it came on, I checked my batter back up and it was fine, parking mode was off and everything seemed normal, the camera stayed on and worked for a few more days,.
this morning, I went to the car and started it, no dash cam, so I pressed the power button, but this time, no results.

I checked the status of the battery back up and it says 1% discharged, meaning it is empty, normally it would say 100% as I don't use parking mode or haven't in several months.
so, it is pretty much empty, not recharging, and Not even sure why it discharged, it was not using parking mode so when I turn the car off the camera shuts off too.
I went for a long ride to see if the status changed at all, maybe climbed to 3% or greater, but it did not.

Anyway, pulled the fuse to check, both fuses look good, the blue light from my battery backup is on, but no power is getting to the camera itself.
What is so confusing is that it worked great, and then it didn't, nothing changed in the car, we didn't move anything, unplug anything change anything so it doesn't make obvious sense, nothing I can look too and say, oh remember when we ...

I read the FAQ, steps 1 thru are basically testing the camera with the 12 volt charger that came with the dash came, I never used mine so I need to find the box and grab it so I can test it, til then, I wanted to see if anyone else had experienced what I am experiencing in hopes they chased the problem top something I can confirm,.

Viofo hardwire kit? Hk3 4 5 or 6?
Powerbank brand?

Great idea to use the supplied cigarette power adapter.
If you can't find it try powering up the camera either by using another similar one, or take it in the house to a wall charger just to see if it will start.

Check the wires on the hwk aren't loose. Disconnect and reconnect perhaps they have vibrated out.

Last thought.
Powerbank went below voltage level and either a safety circuit has been enabled preventing the Powerbank from charging.

The other possibility is the powerbank cells are no longer balanced and below recommended charge level.

Could be a stack of other reasons. I'm just offering suggestions.

Please try to use the original car charger and cable, power on the dashcam from the car's cigarette socket.
Also can you try to copy the firmware to the memory card, then connect the camera with the car charger? Sometimes the camera can be recovered via firmware update.

That is a good first step for fault isolation. You need to know if the dashcam works or not. Remove the SSD and other cameras from the main body and power it as a single channel. If it powers up, you can add the channels and SSD back in one at a time to see if one of them is causing the main unit to shut down. If nothing fails, this suggests that the dashcam, other cameras, and SSD are likely functioning correctly, and the issue is likely with the backup battery and its wiring.

Do not use a USB-C, desktop-type power bank, as they are notorious for not reliably powering a dashcam; even the USB port in some cars may not properly power a dashcam. The CLA charger with the ignition on is the way to go. It may be as simple as the backup battery or its controller having failed. Please let us know the brand of battery backup, and any pictures of the wiring would be helpful.

However, if this unit is still under warranty, I would first verify that the dashcam works and then visit the installer for warranty service on the battery. If you purchased the battery online, you will need to deal with them regarding the warranty. In that case, I would make sure the wiring is correct.

Well they did the job, it worked for months, I don't see how it is their work.
As a last resort if I am stumped on every other possibility then I will refer to the installer, but it won't be easy with my new schedule.

Ok, so kind of weird.
VIOFO, if you are here, maybe you can consider possibilities and give me your best guess.

Today, at lunch time, I went to my car, while I was in it, I noticed the 12 volt adapter I use, (it plugs into the 12 volt port in the front near the wireless charger of my car, 2024 Acura Integra Type S) I have a charger in there that has both a type C as well as an apple type cable so you can charge android or apple devices.

I keep it plugged in, so I noticed the blue light on it was out, I pushed it in a tiny bit and it lit up, as if it had been slightly unplugged.
When I did that, my dash cam came alive.

Mind you the dash cam is hardwired and is nowhere near this 12-volt port.
They are not connected, related or even near each other.
So, I am not sure why or how that would have any impact on the dash cam, but......
then I thought ok, lets see if it works later when I leave work, sure enough it fired up as it always has, worked great, no issues.
I'm stumped.

I don't know why it wasn't working or why it now works.
I'm glad it works, but kind of irritated that I can't explain why.
I checked my battery pack, that yesterday was discharged, to 1% and it was at 99% after my 45 min drive home.
I don't get it.
Any thoughts?
Remember the dash cam is hardwired with the HK4.
Has the shared fuse thing, both fuses looked good to me, I have never powered the camera any other way, never tried the 12-volt charger that came with it, or any other source.
So, good news bad news, the dash cam works, but I don't know why it didn't work for a day.
No idea.
I had just washed my car and also did an oil change so everything was really nice, and clean but my cam fort the first time wasn't working, and a day later it is fine, so I have no idea what happened.

By 12-volt adapter, is this the CLA, cigarette lighter?

Look to see what fuses your installer wired to. As a side note, your installer may have pulled the CLA and, for whatever reason, wired to the back of it. Ask your installer what he wired to fuse and otherwise.

I haven't tried it yet, I think I was to happy it was working and didn't feel like testing the connection, lol.
Ill unplug the adapter tomorrow to see if it has any effect or if it was a coincidence.
