Hello. Does anyone know if the A810 works with other rear cameras than their own RC12?

The issue is two fold: the RC12 looks like it's indoors only, and it might have a cable that's too short. I've scoured the internet and haven't found any info on how the cable even attaches to the camera. One vendor lists the RC12 cable as being 5.5m in length, but the photo is idealized (highly photoshopped) and doesn't provide the slightest clue as to how it works IRL.

This is for a box truck. My previous dash cam used an analog camera for input making it easy to use a 3rd party one.

Hi. Yes, the RC12 camera is compatible with the A810 and it is a rear camera. The cable length of 5.5 meters is true. Trust me, because I have this camera. There is an FC02 camera for indoor shooting. It is also compatible with the A810 and has an infrared backlight for shooting in the dark.

As for compatibility, cameras from previous 70mai models are also compatible with the A810: RC06, RC09, FC02

I don't think you understood my first question. I was asking if there were other cameras compatible with the A810. The problem with the RC12 is it's indoor only.

OK, I get it you need to install a camera outside. You can use the RC05 camera (70mai Night Vision Backup Camera), BUT the camera plug will overlap the power connector. To install the RC05 camera, you need an extension cord from the internal camera (RC12 or RC06).

Has anyone actually confirmed these will work together?

I only have photos/videos, so it looks like the connectors on the older A800S the backup camera cable was bent down so it wouldn't interfere with the power cable but they changed it in the A810 so both cables go in the same direction. ASSUMING the sockets are the same and oriented the same, the old cable would work (no idea how long it is). Again, no way to know for sure unless someone has the old camera and new unit in hand.

They did change the sensor in the new unit to some non-Sony one.

Actually, the port locations are different:
Also, the customer support person is suggesting they aren't compatible, but who knows unless someone actually tries it

All 70mai rear cameras have a cable length of 5.5 meters. OK?

Only the RC 05 camera will suit you. But if you connect it to the A810, because the connectors are reversed. To connect the RC05 you need an extension cord from the RC12 (or RC06) and an RC 05 camera. Yes, it is difficult and will be more expensive.

Or use the A800s + RC05 camera without any problems

I see. Thanks for clarifying the connector issue. If I go this route, I can buy the cable separately on aliexpress.

Are all these cameras AHD? Will any AHD camera work? They seem to have the same round 4 pin connector with a key.
