So I've been using an ITB-100 HD as my dashcam for a while and have done some road tripping with it.

What I'd like to do is playback the driving footage, speed it way up, and then overlay a Google Maps image on the video with a dot showing my location as the video plays.

Think video playing, map in a corner, and dot slowly moving across the map.

I'd like to automate this of course and have it pull from the GPS info but I'm thinking I may have to manually move the dot itself every so often in my video editor.

Has anyone ever done anything like this?

I'm using Finalcut Pro X, but I'm open to using any program to get this done, Mac or Windows.

What's the best way of accessing the GPS info in the .dat file that comes with each .avi and then integrating that with a video editor?

Thanks! :)
