Advice Needed on Nextbase212

Hi folks, 1st time poster. I've inherited the nextbase 212 today. I've reset everything & added up to date firmware. However, I have an issue with regards to holding charge. I've charged it for 3 hours but as soon as I unplug from charger it dies. Now my car has a USB point above the rear view mirror so I can use the cam and I guess as long as the engine is running it will work?

However, as soon as the engine stops it dies. Am I right in thinking then that the parking mode won't work if the vehicle gets hit whilst stationary and no power?

Can a new battery be added if needed?

Yeah, the parking mode won't work and also the camera needs a bit of charge to shutdown cleanly after engine off.

I have changed the battery on a 212 Lite.

It was out of warranty but support sold me a battery - I had to solder 2 connections, wasn't too difficult with my average soldering skills.
