I have a geofence setup for the entrance to my sub-division.

GPS is connected.
When I enter my property and shutoff the vehicle the S1 begins it's 90 second countdown to enter Parking Mode.

Since I am inside the geofence perimeter shouldn't the S1 NOT enter Parking Mode ?
Or is this not how geofence works ?

Is there a procedure to verify whether or not Parking Mode activated in a geofence other than looking at recorded video ( Motion/Impact ).

Also, a good feature would be if the S1 announced when it entered into a geofence perimeter.

Thanks.

I am not quite sure to be honest ( not familiar with this brand ) , but i think it is reverse geo fence, so the location is where the camera would not run parking guard, for instance CUZ you park in your garage or in other ways ( CCTV ) area.

On another brand system i run the geofence is just my immediate area, and then upon leaving that ( about 1/2 mile from home ) i get a notification that my car is now leaving,,,,, or entering the geo fence area.
I think this is coined for people letting their kids borrow the car.
I can also get warning if a certain speed is crossed.

Reverse geo fence is what i would want personally as where i live i have CCTV from my 2 floor apartment on my car parked in back yard, so no need to waste car battery or power pack battery on that.
and my personal favorite parking guard mode is low bitrate, but with a 3 hour timeout as that would cover all my shopping easy, and also have G-sensor on while parked to act like sort of a flag to if something actually happened while parked.
Low bitrate parking filer are usually going in among the regular driving footage,,,, which is also OK easy to find on its smaller file size.

I would expect that the geo fence area in that case are smaller then the 500 M it is on that system, CUZ in that case parking guard would not come on in the store i do most of my shopping in.
I would expect something like 50 M for a at home geo fence where no parking guard is needed.

At least here on the forum when the talk have fallen on geo fence, it is most often for a area where people want parking guard to be off, but if you had a option to select of that fence should be for on or off parking guard i think would be best for everyone, and fairly easy to implement.

But in general i think geo fence is just like in that system i have, so you can set 10 mile, and then tell your kid OK take the car but DO NOT leave town.
I think that is the normal geo fence, which also have its merits.
But i feel most often it is for other reasons we dashcam people would want geofence.

Mind you moist systems upon arriving home where you do not want parking guard, most often you can override that and turn the system off by just long pressing the power button.
I would assume people can remember / have time for something that simple.

S1 4K Geofencing disables parking mode recording at the specified locations. There are three zones where you can block parking mode recording.

If you set geofencing to activate at the entrance to your subdivision with a 30-yard perimeter, and then drive 60 yards and park, Geofencing would not work. Geofencing is best used for where you actually park the car. Once you have the car parked and know the GPS is synced, register the GPS location, then select the perimeter around the vehicle for which you want Geofencing to be valid. You have up to 100 yards for a perimeter.

Item 6 on page 26 of the manual shows the indicator for whether Auto REC Off is enabled. There is no verbal alert. If you feel like you need this, then let Vueroid know with a mention to @Vueroid

Nice, i was thinking, if it work like this,,,,, i would want several places / zones for geofence, as i stated if you could choose on / off for these zones i think it would be nice, but then again it should be ON everywhere that is not specified as a OFF zone.

In the S1 4K, Geofencing is under the Auto REC Off Zone setting, a subfeature of Parking Recording Settings. The Auto REC Off is used as a function to conserve the vehicle battery while the car is parked in an
area the owner considers to be safe, such as a home garage. Most users want a way to disable parking recording in a home garage to reduce battery drain and SD card wear and tear.

Always parking mode on , except geofence zone you set.

Yes.
I think once again i was overthinking stuff, just like i am a master in making things more simple than they really are.

Hi gunnye7t

If we look at it as a single feature, I’d say it’s a fancy idea.
Of course, there will be users who don’t like it, so if we decide to include it, it should be implemented as an optional feature that can be turned on or off.

However, if the driver starts the engine and leaves within the designated radius, the system would need to continuously read and compare location data until the vehicle leaves that area and returns again.
It’s not impossible to implement, but I’m not sure if it’s really necessary to make a sound notification every time the vehicle enters the same preset area.
In the early stages, before users have complete trust in the product’s functions, I agree that such notifications could be helpful.
But if the feature doesn’t operate correctly, the user should hear a parking mode activated notification immediately after turning off the ignition—just like in your case—resulting in duplicate notifications.

At VUEROID, we design our products to stay quietly in the background, much like a fire extinguisher—barely noticeable until the moment it’s needed, but performing its role flawlessly when the time comes.
Once the user completes the initial setup, the device should continue doing its job silently, reliably, and without error, as if it isn’t even there.

Since this feature has already been tested and verified, I believe the possibility of any functional issue is low.
If a problem does occur, we’ll make sure to respond as quickly as possible.
As for the feature you mentioned, I’ll add it to my suggestion list and take some time to evaluate it further.

Thank you, and have a wonderful day!

This is why I consider the sound notification about GPS connection to be completely unnecessary.

Thanks for all the info and follow ups.

So again, since I am parking in a selected geofence perimeter should Parking Mode even activate ?
If Parking Mode did not activate would the S1 simply shut down ?

Am I missing something or misunderstanding the operation of geofencing ?

If an "Auto REC Off Zone" zone is enabled, has a registered GPS location, a GPS signal lock has been obtained by the S1-4K, and the vehicle is located within that zone's defined area [GPS location + radius distance] when the ACC power is turned off, the S1-4K should turn itself off. If you use the optional feature "Parking Mode Delay Timer" [90-seconds, 3-minutes], the delay timer is still processed after the ACC power is turned off. That can delay the turning off of the S1-4K by the "Auto REC Off Zone" feature by that amount of time.

I have a S1-4K parking mode guide video that I'll be releasing in the next day or so. Here are some screenshots from that video.
