Hi everyone,
I’m looking to get an action camera primarily for mounting on my bicycle helmet to capture rides in high quality. I want something that balances good video stabilization, durability, and decent battery life because I want ride long distance. I've been riding a lot lately and I really want to take some videos! And I also really want to have an action camera to take some videos when I travel.

I’ve looked at GoPro HERO11 and DJI Osmo Action 4 so far, but I’m open to suggestions — especially from riders who have firsthand experience with helmet mounts.

And how do you manage battery life for longer rides? Do you recommend external power banks or swapping batteries on the go?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry for the late RPLY,,,,,, and welcome to the forum.
I dident even know bicycling was possible in Singapore, dont recall seeing any when i visited Singapore for a day and a half in the early 90ties.

The action cameras have the advantage of being waterproof, so that could be nice if you are surprised by a shower.
In regard to extending recordings beyond what the battery can do, you can either have spare batteries to swap out, or you can power the camera with a Power bank though that introduce a wire and so complicate things a little at least.

TBH i would prefer to mount on the bicycle, CUZ y our head should be aware and so swivel around a lot , or at least some depending on the situation / area you are in

As i kid / young guy i have cycled many 10.000 of Km, i am sure enough to circle the world if needed, in the summer time 100 - 200 KM in a day was not unusual.
Get in the saddle at 8 in the morning and out of it again 10 - 12 hours later.
My last bike though was in 1989 and i only had it for 7 months before it too was stolen, but the cycling computer i had on it read +3000 km 🙂
Denmark is a cycling paradise, mainly from a culture angle but also not very much here in the way of big hills.
