How can I connect app to dashcam? Cordless Android Auto seems to have 100 % priority. It's not possible to turn it off, and if i turn the car off, there's no power to the dashcam. So how does man connect to cam?
I encountered a similar issue with CarPlay following a recent software update on my iPhone.
The car's WiFi would automatically connect to my phone, preventing me from connecting any other device.
When I attempted to manually connect to my dashcam, I would hear the voice prompt "Wi-Fi connected," immediately followed by "Wi-Fi disconnected."
For some reason, CarPlay takes precedence over all other devices.
Here is my configuration:
2026 Honda Passport TrailSport Elite
iPhone 12 Pro Max
Viofo A329S (3-channel), running the latest public firmware
Latest version of the Viofo app
After some troubleshooting, I was able to identify the root cause of the problem and find a solution for my iPhone as follows:
Go to > Settings > Bluetooth > My Devices / Honda Passport / "i" >
Disable CarPlay
or
Go to > Settings > General > CarPlay >
Disable CarPlay
Now, the dashcam connects to my phone without any issues.
(Note: Disabling the "Auto-Join" feature for my car's Wi-Fi network on my iPhone did not help/did not work.)
I still can connect to CarPlay manually, if needed.
Or I can Anable/Disable CarPlay on my phone as needed.
I think that Android smartphones must have a similar CarPlay setting available.
