Changing settings

I just ordered my Lukas 7900 from Ebay this afternoon, so I should receive it in about 10 days.. I still cant understand how we change settings in the camera using the viewer that is downloaded to the desktop ?
Is the viewer suppose to be installed onto the SD card, and the settings changed from within the SD card, or do we simply connect the SD card to the computer, and it automatically finds the Lukas viewer desktop programme, and the changes are made and saved from there ?
Anyone care to explain the step by step procedure for making changes to the camera settings ?
I am sure I will figure this out when the unit actually arrives, but just nice to know ahead of time, what to expect.

1. plug in sd card to computer
2. open lukas viewer program
3. alter settings and it will save a setup file to the sd card
4. take out sd card and enter into lukas

So when you open the lukas viewer , with the sd card connected, does the viewer automatically recongize the sd card ?

Never mind, I think I figured it out, as I have the viewer installed , even though I haven't got the camera yet... You simply select save, after making your settings, and select, save to SD card, which saves the config file to there..

yep, when you put the sd card in from Lukas it will automatically detect the sd card and you click settings then save

if it's a new sd card with no settings at all, you'll have to go to settings then click sd format, which you then select which drive the sd card is in, it will then format the sd card, ready for you to save settings etc

Just one last quick question.... When you perform a full erase of the SD card, does it erase the config file also, or is that saved in a hidden directory, where it wont be effected by formatting...

Just a headup AC25 firmware and new viewer available today 19/07/2013 the Gods must be on my side today the viewer 1.7.8.0 successfully installed on PC and AC25 installed in the camera have yet to go out and test new firmware out though that will be tomorrow .......still trying to figure out what I did right 😱

if you format with windows, it will format the entire card
if you format with the viewer or lukas itself, it keeps the config intact

So , if I decide to upgrade the SD card to a bigger size card, can I format the new card via Windows, and then copy and paste the config file to it and all will be good ?

Thank goodness for this forum, as there is a lot of grey area involved when trying to figure out the instruction manual, as there are quite a few things that arent mentioned, or else not mentioned very well 🙂

@ dolfieny If you google search lukashd.com then click on the option for english version .......click firmware updates it will give a list of latest update click the lk7900 7700/7500/7200 B type line release date 02/27 firmware update AC37 first one down the list is the one you want Then click viewer on the same page its the fifth from the bottom on first page LK7900 ace Btype viewer english version I think it is version 1.8.6.0 I gave my LK7900ace to my daughter in the uk so I cant test out the updates .....Hope this helps .......Ipol.........let me know how you get on.....hope its 🙂 and not this🙁
