Completely new to dash cams, I have no iphone, will it work?

I want to buy one for my son's protection as he begins driving this week.

I read reviews that this Livue LB100 was one of the best, but my son thinks he has to have an android or iphone or something to make it fully functional.

I hope that is not true.

Is this not fully functional when you purchase it and install it, or must something else be purchased to be able to use it?

that is correct you do not need an android or iPhone device. but remember though to view the files you will need a memory card reader.
