crash...wtf

Not sure why you're trying to waste time on over-analyzing some random shadows or the limb kinematics - video was obviously re-encoded few times (as usual for YouTube thieves who put someone else's video on their own channel ;)) so there are plenty of artifacts and loss of all details from that.

As for "why" this happened - woman could be drunk, on drugs, or have a severe case of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) which will basically make you act as a "zombie" without any drugs/alcohol involved.

the limb kinematics

"Limb kinematics", eh?! Unusual parlance. Insider alert!

Now Alex, pray tell us how re-encoding a video can add fake shadowing! On second thoughts don't waste our time! It's a blatant fake. This one is well and truly busted; move on mate. There is easier fake footage to defend than this rubbish effort!

You're an idiot (this might be too rude of the word but it gets the point across). That's all I can say. Here's the original video (not stolen by distractify):
It says the woman was drunk.

Even if the description is wrong, in general in countries of the former USSR (yes, I am also originally from one of them) there's absolutely 0 reasons for any people to "fake" any of such accident videos (especially to the point of adding in "fake" shadows or lens flare effects), simply because car accidents (unfortunately) occur often enough and enough drivers there have a personal dash cams to film them (to have an evidence in case of "staged" accident or just for personal entertainment). And many people post several of them daily at sites like http://www.rucrash.com/ or http://ru-chp.livejournal.com/ (or post them at liveleak or just do a generic upload to personal YouTube channels). Including videos with drivers on drugs, drunk drivers, pissed off drivers (to the point of hitting other person's car with an axe), drivers burning up alive in the mangled up cars, dying drivers/pedestrians, dismembered drivers/pedestrians, etc. Where you will undoubtedly find another "inconsistent shadows" or similar nonsense if you'll convince yourself hard enough

You're an idiot ..That's all I can say.

How rude, mister smartypants! You haven't explained any of the shadow anomalies, but no matter. You wanna talk 'motive' instead? Then belt up and let's go, baby! We've discussed a few motives already.. Any more spring to mind?

Sheer bedevilment - like every conjurer and illusionist, the gameplan is "getting one over" on the audience
Mindless entertainment - opiate of the post-industrial masses; satisfying our Schadenfreude Complex
Commercial gain - collected into compilations there's monetary value to crash porn. ITV has dashcam series on now
Sociological agenda - encourage better driving in us all. The Noble Lie is what Plato called that
Paradigm shift - disguise "surveillance creep" as for the greater good; resolving road crash liability, etc.
Insurance fraud - swindle the underwriting business; more organised than we might think
Sales promotion - boost the market in dashboard cameras. Mine's an A118 / B40 please!
Student projects - the 'apprentice pieces' of budding videographers of the future
Perception dumbdown - exacerbate existing ignorance of video fakery techniques. "It's on The Tube so it must be real!"

Seriously mate, stop digging, you're half way to China already

Micky, there are no shadow anomalies.

The shadows beneath the row of parked cars are consistent. They are a little different from the visible projection of the shadows of the approaching car and the departing car, but this is entirely due to the angle of the sun (to the right and behind the camera), and the perspective of the camera. As the vehicles move from left to right, more of their shadow comes into view. The departing car obscures part of its own shadow from the camera, while it is on the left. Hence the shadow which appears anomalous, but actually isn't, because of the camera's perspective.

this is what happens when people feed the trolls. though i must admit that this has been one of the most amusing threads i've read on here.

I even demonstrated this with my videos in the first page, looks like they were ignored by our troll.

Love it! You post two different videos - of completely different footage - as "proof" the shadows were "real" in the first video!

Troll? Moi?! Sounds like you're sucking bad, dashy. Busted for that fake tree-fall footage you tried to pass off as real. Naughty boy!

Back to reality though... Quit the blustering, dashy; take a back seat and let's re-examine this footage with a truly critical eye. What ever are we seeing here?!

The viewers need to be drunk to swallow this bunkum!

I'm real cool, Gibbo, and enjoying the discourse. Whaddaya reckon to those nine possible motives for faking dashcam footage? Anything you can relate to below?

What would be your key motivation, @Gibson99?

Perhaps it will help if I explain that in the U.K., 'micky' means 'taking the micky' or having a laugh at the other persons expense and 'moo' means 'moo cow' or 'silly cow' :p

*sigh* you English... you think that just because you INVENTED the language, you can continue to change things and then keep them to yourselves, like some sort of secret club. seriously - what's with the extra Us in so many words? flavor doesn't need a U unless you want to pronounce the last syllable like "hour"... right? and why is "laughter" pronounced LAFF-ter but "daughter" isn't DAFF-ter?

You never really realize just how screwed up English is till you try to teach it to someone. We're working on teaching our daughter to read and write, and I'm amazed I ever learned to read and write as well as I have.

edit: do i need a /sarcasm tag?
