D6pro can't connect to mobile

About a year ago, I was bought a dash cam Auto-Vox D6pro. I am no good with technology, so a friend tried to set it up for me but mobile and dash cam would not connect. I left dash cam in the corner collecting dust and today is spring cleaning day. As a last resort, before I throw it in the bin, any suggestions? Thanks
 
Update. Plugged it in and it keeps saying "please connect full application to synchronise date and time." How? And "please insert the memory card." What memory card?
 
There is a QR code on the back of instructions. I copied that but onto the app but nothing happened.
