I noticed by dad's Mini 2's been having some problems (bought it last month). It just wasn't responding earlier today. It was powered with all but the Wifi light on. Button presses would register the beep sound (IIRC) but nothing would change. The screen wouldn't turn on. Voice commands wouldn't work. Wifi was turned off so I couldn't use my phone. I removed it from the base and waited for it to shut off before plugging it back in. It rebooted and seemed to be okay, but when I went to look at the recordings, there was a 7 day gap. Today's recordings only showed the clip it made after removing it from the base and plugging it back in. The sole earlier recordings were from October 19th and prior. My dad's driven throughout the week ...

Additionally, I've noticed a weird thing where the timestamp is consistently several hours ahead even though I've manually set the correct time multiple times. The phone it connects to also displays the correct time.

I'm not sure this has anything to do with it, but the camera is wired in with the HK4 kit. The memory card is a SanDisk Max Endurance that was bought new for this purpose. I don't have the firmware version on hand, but I want to say it was April 2025?

The timezone not saving makes me think it is a problem with the RTC/settings battery. It is usually a little coin cell. How old is the camera?

In addition to setting the actual time, you also need to set the time zone in the settings, which for Toronto is -4.
Did you set it correctly?

You should quiz your dad and ask if he removed the memory card with the camera powered up and then put the card back in, if he removed the camera from its mount while powered up, or anything other than just let the camera hang on the screen and run. 🙂

There are a handful of things you can do for testing such as power from the CLA for a week or so. Format the memory card, reset the camera, reflash the firmware.

Did you get the cam from SafeDriveSolutions in GTA?

I will send you a PM.
