I have spent a number of months with DDPAI's latest flagship release, the Z90 Master, to see what it is all about. Has DDPAI built upon their last Z60 releases to have a flagship truly worth buying in 2026? Let's find out together.
DDPAI Z90 Master (Sony Starvis 2 IMX678/IMX678/SC533AT, Wi-Fi 5, 4K30 + HDR two channels/1664p HDR interior channel)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Firmware: V9.0.0.34. The firmware version loaded from the factory onto the device was V9.0.0.23, and during the testing period I received several improvement, stability and bug-fix firmware updates of which I updated to in the latter part of testing.
App for testing: Android version v8.2.2.0522, obtained from Google Play Store.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The verdict:
This is my first review of a DDPAI product, so I have no metric to base my findings against, only hearsay on the Internet and on forums such as DashCamTalk. I have always had interest in DDPAI, as on paper they seem to be a strong competitor and up-and-comer, much like other brands have been in the dashcam space.
Unfortunately, even with strong specifications on paper, the Z90 Master falls somewhat flat in it's execution of a dashcam. Installation was not the most user-friendly, which is something that should have been addressed in the user documentation (or online videos). This could easily be forgiven should the rest of the experience hold up, but the plate capture capabilities of this dashcam really struggle even in the most basic of conditions, along with the numerous firmware errors that happened every couple to few days.
I do look forward to the learnings DDPAI can take and implement in their next releases, as the potential is apparent for a strong product showing compared to the most established players in the industry.
Unfortunately for now, the Z90 Master just isn't that dashcam.
My nitpickings:

My nitpickings:
- Interior camera not integrated into main front camera housing assembly, adds unnecessary additional cable management
- No Wi-Fi 6 on-board
- Has issues with fast-moving plate capture during both day and night
- Lack of HDR timer option
- ADAS unequivocally does not work even with calibration
- G-sensor sensitivity far too high even on low settings
- Immature firmware leading to random channel disconnects and channel display errors
The positive:
- Fantastic video quality from Starvis 2 sensors, coupled with pleasant video image processing
- CPL filter included out of the box
- eMMC storage as a backup for microSD memory card recording is a great idea
- Display quality and dashcam on-display and app instructions are the most detailed (and fun!) I have seen from a brand yet
- Strong integration with DDPAI's in-house LTE parking kit
