I thought I was the last guy alive using G1Wx cams
A familiar replacement would be the Viofo G1W-S; supercaps, much better in low-light, a bit lesser than a good G1W in daylight. Be certain you're getting the newest version with a RTC battery as the older ones which didn't have that lose date/time quickly and won't record if that happens
My old one holds if I drive every day. works fine with 128GB cards.
I think the B1W is the best bargain-priced cam, again a bit less in daytime but better nights, and also with supercaps. Several firmware versions to customize for use including low-bitrate parking mode. G-sensor works very well in most (but not all) of these. May have trouble with cards over 128GB. App works decently for most folks on newer Android OS's. Both of these cams use the IMX322 sensor. Audio alerting gives peace of mind for knowing the cam is working correctly. Love mine
The old WR-1 is now the RSC Nano and in the same league as the G1W/S. May have low audio but an interesting form-factor and an OK cam with supercaps and reliability. It gets my qualified recommendation if you need that form-factor. Not a bad choice, only there are better choices now
I don't have a 70 Mai but it has better daytime vids than these and an almost absurdly low price. It has some issues- especially with set-up- and has a battery which isn't good for hotter climates. I give it a qualified recommendation and plan to get one myself someday just because I can
Viofo has some mid-price-range cams which are very much worth considering if you can use a wedge form-factor. Probably the best bang-for-the-buck of any current cams and excellent vid quality with all- in fact better than most high-end cams
Not sure Garmin's prices but they have matured well other than having batteries (only one super-cap model). They have a good-sized fanbase, good video, and seem fine if you like the form-factor. A few other cams seem OK but these are the only non-premium cams I'd buy myself.
