Distance for WiFi on 900S ?

I am wondering how far your WiFi works on the 900S. Mine is very very short .. like I bet 20 feet however you only need it mostly inside your car.

I am more interested in if I can monitor my car in the parking lot or do I need the cloud part to do that ?

Depending on obstructions, (walls, etc.) I am saying between 25 - 40 feet. I can access mine within my house in a room nearest to the garage but not from by bedroom in the back of the house. You would need the cloud to monitor from your office, unless of course you parked right outside of your office and are within 25 - 40 feet.
