Dongar power adapter

Hello everyone. Hope I'm in the right place.

I plan on installing my dash cam as soon as it gets a little warmer. I got my Dongar power adapter the other day. Is it normal to have this much of a gap (please see photograph) for the USB-C connection?

At first glance, that seems excessive; I use the older version, which has a USB-A port, and it shows that much metal as well. Excessive, it seems, but on the new USB-C style, I don't know if what you have is normal or not.
