What issues have you seen? With the EV9, specifically, I've seen some dead 12v battery issues if people use certain features like the phone key or one or two other features, but I'm not sure if that's all been figured out entirely yet.You are correct.. the 12v battery is backed by the high voltage system. I didn't want to leave it to the car battery alone, though. It's an interesting thought, although kia has had issues with their battery charging strategy, so keep an eye on that.
I had the same thing occur with my DR970X BOX Plus front camera nighttime video footage.I am seeing some banding in the night footage that is concerning... not sure if it's an interference issue (maybe from the high voltage system) or what. Any ideas? It happens even in parking mode, though, so maybe it doesn't have anything to do with the electrical system in the car.

Are there fluorescent lights (or other types that 'cycle' on/off in the area? I've seen similar banding in photos/videos under some conditions with that type of lighting....Any ideas?...
Yep. Exactly the same. Did you ever find a resolution? I just ordered another coax cable so I can play around with whether there might be electronic interference from cable placement. By using another cable, I won’t have to undo my install while I play with it.I had the same thing occur with my DR970X BOX Plus front camera nighttime video footage.
Location doesn’t seem to matter at all.Are there fluorescent lights (or other types that 'cycle' on/off in the area?
Ugh. Thanks.A similar issue involving a flickering banding was reported about four years ago with some, but not all A119 V3 cameras in low light situations,
No solution has been found yet. My emails to Pittasoft support asking about this issue have gone unanswered. I have other BlackVue coax video cables. As a test, I'll likely run one down the middle of the vehicle to see if it results in better video at night.Yep. Exactly the same. Did you ever find a resolution? According to our 2nd level support, there will be a newer firmware version for the DR970X Box which will be released probably by Monday or the beginning of next week.
Mine does work as expected. Make sure that your camera wire color coding isn't backwards... but yeah.. when I turn off the car, it immediately goes into parking mode.@cpo does ignition triggered parking mode work on your setup?
I've been testing my DR970X box and I can't seem to get it to go into parking mode when the red(acc) line is disconnected but the yellow/black remain powered.
It does seem to go into accelerometer triggered parking mode after 5 mins of no motion. Is the acc triggered parking mode not a feature on the new DR970x's? I double checked my setup with my old DR900x and it does behave as intended - disconnecting red but leaving yellow/black will send the cam into parking mode. reconnecting red will make it go into normal recording mode.
