Does anyone have a picture of the official DVR-027 box? I read the faq and it says the real one comes in a blue box while clones come in white boxes. I found a store near me that sells something similar to the DVR-027 but it would be nice if I knew exactly what the real blue box is supposed to look like.

the boxes come from a public box factory, not a way to assure you're getting the right product unfortunately

While i don't have my box on me at the moment the box my real DVR-027 came in looks just like this
While knock offs come in a box that look like this
But as jokiin mentioned it may not be a sure indicator.
You would have to look at price and features
If the store is local maybe they will let you test one out before you buy. Make sure the Time stamping and screen display are correct.

Knock off
Real DVR-027s will have a white background with black text both in the video and on the display screen.
Knock offs will have ether green or yellow time stamps on the left right or top of the video and the display screen
Real ones have a black and white solid menu knock offs may have a transparent menu with purple and white and green font.
