After taking some time exploring different options; I finally settled on the E1 Pro.

I have got it set up without any hiccups; however I am a bit confused regarding the firmware.

The cam was delivered with VT-EEF131 installed; however upon attempting to install the "latest" firmware VT-EEK211 the camera becomes unresponsive.
I found a thread here walking through an OTA update method, and when I attempt this it states the firmware is the latest version.
Looking through the archives on vantrue.net, I have been assuming that my firmware is older (the list in the archives is increasing the third letter in "EE?" alphabetically.

(as a side note; I'm aware I'm writing this during the Chinese New Year, and so I'm not expecting an immediate response or the website to be fully up to date ๐Ÿ™‚)

Did you try the manual FW install where you put the FW on a microSDXC?

I did; I downloaded the E1PRO_VT-EEK211 file and it was saved as VT_E1P.bin, copied it into the root directory of the SD card, removed the camera from the PC and plugged it into a 5V 2A adapter. No green light came on, but the website states it will be unresponsive for 30s to a minute, however it was still in this state after approx. 10 mins. I removed power from the camera, deleted the .bin file using an SD card adapter, reinstalled the SD into the camera, and it powered up when reconnected to the same outlet

If you have copied the file more than once, check the file name and make certain it does not have extra characters added to the name. You may see a 'tilde', ' (1)' or similar. If so, rename the file to the correct name.

You may have multiple copies on the SD that are of the incorrect name.

Be certain to properly eject or unmount the SD card from your computer.

The 'root' directory is the top-most location on the disk, and that is where the .bin should be copied.

The latest firmware I have is E1PRO_VT-EEK211. Release time: 12/1/2025.

I bought two dash cams this February and updated both to this latest firmware using MicroSD card method. They work fine.

EDIT

Corrected firmware number.

Thanks to those who responded.

I have been able to update the cam using the MicroSD card.

It seems the issue was the SD card itself - having replaced it with a new card it worked flawlessly!

The latest firmware I have is E1PRO_VT-EEK241. Release time: 12/1/2025.
Or E1PRO_VT-EEK211?

Or E1PRO_VT-EEK211?
I stand corrected. It is 211.

I probably pushed number 4 instead of 1 (I use numeric keypad instead of number keys above letters) for the folder name on my hard drive.

I corrected the number in my previous post.

Hello! Even if the version number appears to be lower, it sounds like your camera may already have the most recent firmware. If it believes your camera is up to date, the upgrade may occasionally fail. If the VT-EEF131 is functioning properly, you can probably maintain it without running the danger of breaking anything.
