Fast disable parking mode

Please advise on parking mode. I am going to connect the recorder via the OBD 2 connector. During the day, the car is parked in the city and parking mode is required. At night, the car is in the garage and parking mode is not needed so as not to drain the battery and wear out the memory card. If I enable parking mode in the settings, it will automatically turn on every time I turn off the ignition. How can I quickly disable parking mode (without going into the menu and changing the settings) when the car is in the garage?
 
Thank you for your question. In this situation, the only option at the moment is to manually power off the camera when you do not want Parking Mode to activate.

Should this be done with the ignition on or off?
 
Timing in this case does not matter. Just hit the record button to make it stop recording. If the screen is off, you'll need one additional button press to "wake up" the menu system. Then, just hold the power button for a second or two and it will turn off.
 
Do you need to stop recording first? I think you just have to wake up the screen (tap center orange button) and then hold down the orange button until it powers off.
 
Hmmm... I haven't explicitly tested this with each of the Vantrue cameras. I know for sure this is true with the new N5S camera. If the screen is off, it requires one button press to "wake it up," a second button press to stop recording, then a long press on the power button to turn it off. The times that I've missed a button press, it never turned off.

I'll verify within the next day or two...

That's my recollection from when I had the S1 Pro Max in my car. One press to wake up, if needed. Then a long press to turn off.

After a couple of months using dashcams with geofencing, I must admit that reaching over to the passenger side and holding down a button every time I park at home seems like an inconvenience I could do without.

Alternatively, the programmable Viofo remote button does a great job at turning off any connected dashcam with a simple short-press. @Jeff_Vantrue have you considered a programmable Vantrue remote button?

Yes the Viofo remote to turn off the camera has really come in handy.

I've been trying to figure out a way to trigger the remote automatically when my car enters the garage to turn off the camera. It would require a hardware interface with the BTR200 switch circuit so the remote would have to reside outside my car.

@Jeff_Vantrue can more than one Vantrue remote be paired with the same camera? My understanding is Bluetooth 5 and subsequent versions allow multiple remotes or devices to pair with a host.
If two remotes had the capability to pair with the same camera, one could stay in the car for typical usage, the other would be located in the garage and automated to send an OFF command to the camera when properly triggered.

Sorry, but at the moment a dash cam can only be paired with one remote control.

I tried it, and in that case, the recorder switches to collision detection mode. But I need to turn it off completely without physically unplugging the cable every time I leave the car in the garage.
