I want to know why does Blackvue only record videos in small segments? (1-3 minutes)
I would also like to know what differences there are in setting these to 1 or 3? minutes (if any)

Some cameras have more options but this is how they work, makes recycling possible and makes file handling much easier

Ah that would make sense, are there any pros/cons to setting the recording length to 3 minutes then as apposed to the default 1 minute per segment?

Not really, it's just personal preference

I recommend to set it to 1 minute and do not change.
If you Change the possible problems.

I confirm That.

My settings were 2 minutes for parking mode and 3 minutes for normal mode and my blackvue was unstable.

Now my sertings are 1 minutes for all and my blackvue works perfectly !
