Flashing F with DVR-027

What does it mean when the big flashing letter F appears on the screen? My first guess is the memory card is full, since the camera stops recording, but wouldn't it continuously record by erasing the oldest files?

had the same issue, had to format my memory card ...issue gone now

Still doing the same thing. It does it on 2 different memory cards regardless of which one is in use. I'd format, it'd be ok for a while, then it starts happening again.
