I've been reading a lot about dash cams for the past few month and can't decide on a purchase. The reason is that the summers where I live are very hot and it's very possible for the camera to be under direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time.
I wanted to go for the capacitor version in order to avoid battery problems like leakage etc, although I'm sure it's rare, I would like to be safe. Another feature I hope for is a screen. Cams like Mobius are great, but if there were a need for me to rotate the camera, like a traffic stop, repositioning it back the right way will probably require a laptop.
So the G1W-C seems like the perfect option, but there is a concern of the build quality. How does the body/lens/other elements fare under high heat?
There's no safe place in my car to install it to somehow keep it safe from the sun.
